âWe may or may not be hiding in a locker and we may or may not be squished against each other.â
Luna muttered to herself as she got ready for the quidditch match she was about to play, Gryffindor vs Slytherin. As noted, the houses were rivals and Luna wanted to win. She slid on her quidditch robes and stood there silently. Luna was always nervous before a match but this time her nerves were getting to her. Why might you ask? A certain Slytherin might be playing against. Matteo Balsano was Slytherinâs star player, their seeker. Luna tried to shake it off but she just couldnât. âIâll be playing against Matteo,â Luna whispered to herself, clutching her moon pendant. She always had it with her when she played a match. âSo...Are you ready for the big match?â Gaston, her fellow chaser said, throwing the quaffle at her which caught Luna by surprise. For someone who was quite clumsy, Luna was an excellent chaser. âYeah I guess Iâm ready for it,â Luna said. âWhat happened to energetic Luna? I only see nervous and mopey Luna,â Gaston asked. âIâm fine Gaston I just need some fresh air, Iâll be back in a second,â Luna said exiting out of the locker room. âOkay but donât get lost again, we had to replace you with Ramiro and you know how I feel about him,â Gaston called. Luna rolled her eyes, âIâll be back in 2 minutes I promise,â.Â
Luna wandered the halls of Hogwarts trying not to stress herself even more. âItâs just a match Luna, nothing more, nothing less,â she muttered to herself over and over again. She and Matteo werenât like the others, she felt a special connection to him. While Luna didnât know what it was, she knew that they were destined to be together. But he had a girlfriend, Ambar, while Luna had Simon. Just thinking about Simon made Lunaâs head spin. Were they friends, were they more than that? Luna only thought of Simon as a friend however she felt something more than that. However it wasnât as strong as what she felt towards Matteo. It was always Matteo that came to her mind. Simon was her best friend, she told him everything, she saw him as a brother when she was younger. However now she saw things differently. It was more than just a friendship but she didnât know how to feel about it.Â
Just as Luna was about to turn back to the locker room she saw Ambar crouched down next to a broom closet. âAmbar, are you alright?â Luna asked, confused to what she was doing on the ground. Ambar saw her and quickly shoved her wand into her pocket, âLunita, what a surprise to see you here,â She said with a superficial smile. Ambar knew that finally her plan was going to work. âI was just getting some fresh air before the match,â Luna smiled. Luna didnât really trust Ambar but she wasnât going to be mean to her just because of her suspicions. âAh, arenât you playing chaser today for Gryffindor?â Ambar asked. âYup,â Luna said nodding. âWell then Iâll be heading down that way-â Luna started but Ambar interrupted her, âI think I lost my wand in there, could you help me find it?â Ambar asked, pointing to the broom closet. âWhat a weird request,â Luna thought. âUm yea sure,â Luna said uncertainly opening the door and looking inside. Before Luna knew it Ambar had pushed her in and locked her inside. âNO,â Luna said vigorously, trying to open the door. âAmbar let me out please, I canât miss this game please,â Luna begged. âToo late,â Ambar laughed. âThat's what you get for being with Matteo this whole time. Iâm his girlfriend, not you Lunita so STAY AWAY,â Ambar said nastily. âAmbar I think you have the wrong person, I donât like Matteo-â Luna started. âI donât have time for excuses. Now if youâll excuse me I have a game to watch,â Ambar said, walking away. âNOO, please someone, someone get me out,â Luna screamed, hoping someone could hear her.Â
âSomeone open the door, Iâm gonna be late help!â Luna screamed, banging the door. Luna cursed as she realized she had left her wand in the locker room. âAnyone help me out of here please,â Luna sobbed. âI canât be late this time Iâm gonna my position as chaser for Gryffindor,â Luna cursed. Matteo heard screaming from the broom closet as he sprinted towards it. âLuna is that you?â Matteo asked. Luna sighed in relief, âMatteo thank goodness can you open the door please?â. Matteo twisted the door knob vigorously yet nothing. âItâs not opening, itâs locked both ways,â Matteo groaned. âOh for goodness sake Matteo youâre not a muggle, use your wand,â Luna screamed banging on the door. âOh right, alohomora,â Matteo muttered. Just as he opened the door he felt an arm push him into the closet. âShit,â Matteo mumbled as he stumbled into the broom closet practically falling on top of Luna. Both of them heard the door lock and groaned in frustration. All of the sudden Luna realized that Matteo was pushed up against her and blushed. The smell of his robes were heavenly and Luna buried her face into them, keeping the scent from leaving her nose. Â
Both of them awkwardly shuffled away from each other. That being only inches because they were practically squished in the tiny broom closet. Matteo pulled out his wand and muttered some spells. A few seconds later he groaned in frustration. âNothing is working,â he said, slumping into the side of the closet. Luna screamed in frustration. Matteo always found it cute when she was annoyed. Luna got up and banged on the door, âHelp! Open the door, anyone please,â. Matteo sniggered, âItâs not like anyoneâs gonna be in this hallway, both of the teams are out on the field playing, âItâs just the two us, alone,â Matteo said staring into her eyes. Luna fidgeted with her robe, "Also, who locked you in here?â Matteo asked. âAmbar,â Luna grumbled. âI am so sorry Luna,â Matteo started. âItâs fine Matteo, I know itâs not your fault,â Luna sighed. Matteo gave her a small smile. âIâm sure someone will get us out of here,â Luna said with uncertainty. âYou donât look very certain,â Matteo said sweetly. âHey,â Matteo said leaning into Luna. âWeâll get out of here,â Matteo said calmly. Luna pulled him into a hug. âI canât believe Iâm saying this but Iâm so glad that I got stuck in here with you chico fresa,â. Matteo smiled as he hugged her, âMe too chica delivery,â. Both of their lips were centimeters away from each other as they both leaned in. Luna was internally screaming she couldnât believe she was about to kiss Matteo, the boy from her dreams. All of a sudden a large bang startled them both as Luna fell on top of Matteo. GastĂłn coughed as he opened the door. âFinally I found you two, the game is starting in two minutes, get out on the field. Luna and Matteo sighed in relief, âThank you so much GastĂłn,â both of them said in unison. Luna sprinted out to the field giving Matteo a dreamy stare. Matteo was about to go when the Gryffindor said, âImma need you to explain everything after,â. Matteo smirked as he ran off. With Lunaâs well played passes and Gastonâs goal scoring ability, Gryffindor had won the match. Matteo in one bit was not jealous because he had been so close to kissing his chica delivery. âEarth to Matteo?â Ambar asked. âWhere were you before the match, I thought we were supposed to meet before you went out to play?â âI helped someone out of a broom closet,â Matteo smiled. âAlso, weâre done,â Matteo said, walking away.   Â
