There's no way this comes true so let's pretend this is an AU. Instead of Abyss Prince Kaeya, what if we have Fatui Harbinger Kaeya? In Liyue, they had Childe. In Inazuma, they have Scaramouche. While yes, you can technically argue Dottore/Signora is a part of Mondstadt, they don't really stay for very long. We don't know what exactly Scaramouche is doing but he did say he was an Inazuma envoy [I think, I don't remember]. There isn't technically a Fatui Harbinger stationed there so what if Kaeya is secretly a Fatui Harbinger? After getting basically disowned by Diluc and receiving his cryo vision. He was approached by the Fatui to join their ranks.

This is just an excuse to say wow, the Harbingers seem to have really specific and flashy clothing. I wonder who else I know dresses the same?

I also just want to mention that apparently initiation into the Harbingers is to dye your hair lol.

We can go even further and say that Kaeya is a double agent for Mondstadt as well. I highly doubt Diluc wouldn't be aware that Kaeya was a part of the Fatui, but if he was a double agent, then Diluc might not rat him out. Possibly. Or we can pretend Diluc is an idiot and never finds out.

Or even better, Mondstadt puts too much faith into Kaeya that even if Diluc does tell someone, no one would believe him. This is literally an excuse for me to expose my inner Kaeya simp and how in the manga, when he played the bad guy and stabbed a child? Yeah, let's bring that Kaeya back. I want him to drop the flirty but still somewhat nice nature and go full "I'm an arrogant piece of shit and there's nothing you can really do about it because no one would believe you" attitude.

Honestly, I've completely side-tracked myself at this point but I'm ready to commit to an entire dark reverse au right now. Give me cynical Kaeya with playboy Diluc. Rip to Diona tho lol. I just want Diluc and Kaeya to be shitty people together ok?? Or hey, we don't even need to change their personalities that much, just take their morality compass and chuck it out the window.

Okay okay. Look at me. Kaeya is still the abyss prince but instead of being adopted into Diluc's family, he gets picked up by the Fatui. Instead of growing up with Diluc, he grows up with Childe instead [@cattycattitude is feeding my inner Kaeya x Childe simp, it's a valid ship ok??]. While he still retains his flirty personality that we see in Mondstadt Kaeya, he's a lot crueller and uses insults as compliments. While Mondstadt Kaeya is a "the ends justify the means". Dark Kaeya's thought process is "if someone isn't dead by the end of this, I'm doing something wrong". Meanwhile, with Diluc, his dad is still dead but he doesn't suffer the betrayal that Kaeya gave him. Thus he never goes on that soul searching journey and becomes this really hot-headed but really friendly guy. He's still pretty aloof but approachable since he doesn't have a reason to not trust people.

Even going to Liyue characters and Zhongli?? Who is Guizhong? We don't know her, she doesn't exist in this AU or she died super early. Zhongli remains as Morax and never adopts his human persona, thus never really learns about empathy or humanity. He's borderline a dictator and doesn't see himself ever in the wrong, he's helping his people. Whether they want him to or not, and why wouldn't they? He's their archon so that's enough reason for him to do what he wants. He's not specifically cruel or wants to harm his people, this is just the only way he knows how to do it.

Also, Childe never falls into the Abyss. Do what you want with that information.

Fuck it honestly, we might as well just combine everything. I'm ready to drop dark reverse au Kaeya meeting Mondstadt Kaeya. I think they would hate each other haha.
