I'm not doing this to brag or show off. In fact, every time I post stuff like that I feel a bit uneasy (not judged) - because I am a somewhat private person. But, I have to post stuff like this because I can't make my point if I don't. The point I want to make is this: The reason why you cannot do a lot of things - including physical stuff like this in the vid - is not that "you can't", or that "you don't know how to". Or that... you are too old, too young, an endomorph, an ectomorph, you have injuries, or somebody told you that you shouldn't be able to... and you believed them, or... Take your pick. The real reason is that you say stuff like this to yourself... and you believe it! I never believed that I shouldn't be able to. In fact, I protected myself like crazy from ever thinking thoughts like this! But, really, change how you think watch how the way you feel and look changes too. The energy, the vitality, the vigor - everything changes - with changing the story you tell yourself. I know it sounds way too simple. It is. And, if you don't care about having an able, willing and ready vehicle (body) then it doesn't matter what you think. Thoughts - Feelings - Actions - Results ~ Ivan PS. Spelling my name I V A N doing #pullups with my body in L-sit shape If I have to reverse-engineer how I got to do this - here's the process: 1. Beliefs I never told myself "I can't" or "This is too hard" or "I could never do that" or "I don't have what it takes" or "I'm too old" (I'm 44 - just a fact... "old" is an opinion or even a belief). 2. Actions Because I didn't nurse "stories" why I can't I simply went to work on it - and one day I was able to do it. And, guess what? It wasn't a surprise. I expected this outcome. I "knew". And, when it arrived it was like "But of course." Here's an important point that I haven't heard other people who talk about beliefs mention: When a person believes in all the stories why they can't... 1) They put in mediocre work (if they decide to try, of course) and 2) This work feels really, really hard. It does! (I know this personally from "trying" to do stuff while doubting that I'll succeed. I'm very experienced in that, too.) When a person "knows" that THEY CAN and it's just a matter of time... 1) They put superior work, and 2) It doesn't feel like it's a lot. It almost feels like they aren't doing enough. That's because (purely my own observation, based on my own experience) when you believe and "know" that you can - effort is easy. It almost seems like it's coming from a place of flow (it probably does). When you believe that you can't - effort is dreadful and uninspired - and, of course, it feels exponentially harder. So, here's the complete set of possible faiths: ** Ambitious person, wrong beliefs ** Wrong beliefs --> Mediocre action --> Feels hard --> Takes way too long --> Premature giving up --> No results ** Unambitious person, wrong beliefs ** Wrong beliefs --> No action --> No results ** Ambitious person, right beliefs ** Right beliefs --> Superior action --> Feels like not doing enough --> It takes whatever it takes --> Eventually... Intended results But, even this is not THE REAL DRAMA! Although I used a physical performance example, IT WORKS THE SAME WAY in any other area of life. It's the same formula.
