Gay Holidays in Lisbon, Portugal
Lisbon is the most popular gay holiday destination in Portugal featuring an active gay scene even if it cannot be compared to the big gay life of big metropolises such as New York City and Berlin! During your holidays in Lisbon do not spend all your time only in the gay venues of the city. Lisbon has much more to offer than a simple gay nightlife experience since it is also popular for its natural parks, outstanding historical landmarks, excellent gourmet restaurants and much more!
Gay Travel Tips:
*Lisbon has a high level of gay acceptance and people are very friendly to each other, no matter the sexual orientation, colour or religion. So, feel free to hold your hands with your partner even if you are in public places, because that's something that you can’t do everywhere.
*If you want to explore the mainstream gay life of Lisbon but also enjoy an intense clubbing experience then visit the gay dancing clubs Discoteca Trumps, Construction, Finalmente and Lux Frágil. Keep in mind that some of these clubs might attract heterosexual people as well, but the majority are gay.
*Lisbon has the most intense gay scene in Portugal so it would be a shame if you didn't see at least a bit of it. Amazing gay clubs in Lisbon include Bar 106, Sétimo Céu, TR3S Lisboa, Woof LX Bar, and Etilico.
*Did you know that Lisbon is the home of an outstanding gay beach? It is called Beach 19 attracting thousands of gay visitors every year. This beach is actually nudist and it's located at the Southern end of Costa da Caparica beach.
*For those looking for a naughtier type of fun, Lisbon has also several gay cruising clubs. The most popular ones are Bar Cru, and Woof X.
*You can combine relaxation with some fun by visiting the gay saunas of Lisbon. The most famous gay saunas in Lisbon are Trombeta Bath, SaunApolo 56, Oasis Sauna and Sauna Viriato.
*There are several gay events, festivals and parties happening every week in Lisbon, especially in the summer. The most popular are Arraial Pride, Lisbon Pride, and Queer Pride.
*In the area of Chiado you will find restaurants serving traditional cuisine, at quite low prices. Some popular restaurants in Chiado are Tapa Bucho, 100 Maneiras, and La Paparrucha.
*Keep in mind that usually, during your dinner, you will be served with some unrequested starters. Don't eat them unless you want to pay extra.
*Restaurants with Fado music can be found anywhere in Lisbon. Even though you will pay a bit more than in a normal restaurant, the experience is more than worth it.
*Do not ask the taxi drivers for a good place to dine because they usually choose the tourist-oriented restaurants which are pretty expensive.
*Chiado is the biggest shopping district in the whole city of Lisbon and the home of many exclusive local stores as well as international brands like ZARA and H&M. Rua do Carmo and Rua Garrett are the main shopping streets of the area!
*If water is your cup of tea and want to achieve total detoxification, do not miss to visit one of the best spas in Lisbon and ask for a Floating Spa experience.
*Lisbon is one of the few European capitals located nearby sandy beaches. The waters are not as warm as in the southern side, however, most of them have been awarded the EU Blue Flag!
*Some popular beaches in Lisbon are Portinho da Arrabida, Guincho, Meco, Troia, Adraga, Praia da Cabana do Pescador, Tamariz, and Sesimbra.

Ondertussen
