I like your profile avatar of the revolutionary lady, Marianne wearing the red phrygian cap. What inspired you to use that photo? Also, what revolution of all the revolutions of France do you like the most? and why?
Thank you. Marianne is really importantĀ for me and this painting looks a little bit like me (and yes a also have a phrygian cap), so i choose it as my avatar :)moreover the majority is not known marianne, although it is such an important symbol.
Puuuh ⦠my favorite Revolution⦠hard decision. I like all of them, but i think, my favorites were the āgreatā French Revolution, the 1848 Revolution and 1830 & (of course) the 1832 Revolution (in this sequence)
The āgreatā French Revolution is my first Favorite, because i love Camille Desmoulins, Danton, Robespierre and all the other āFathersā of the Revolution. They (especially Robespierre) make so much shit and destroy their dream of freedom, equality and broderhood with terror, butĀ (and this is really important) they have dared to do something. Something unique, something never seen before and something that has never existed in this form up again today. This men are the Fathers of the Revolution and they do great things and theyĀ gave a whole country the strength and the courage to rebel. They have taught the people revolution and thatās something that ever since france best. without the āgreatā french revolution no other revolution could be,Ā because the great French revolution was so pioneering and formative for all other uprisings in the world, and through them things have come into being, which did not seem possible before.
So the fabruaryrevolution from 1848 is my second favorite Revolution in the french history, becauseĀ they made āāa difference. The February Revolution of 1848, triggered in large parts of central Europe also made uprisings. Paris was the starting point and the surrounding countries did France, the mother of the revolutions, after. this had also follows one of two German revolutions to. I as Germanām not exactly proud of it, because the German March revolution of 1848 was more than miserably, but I think itās great how far reaching following the February revolution in Paris had. They also led to the proclamation of the Second Republic in France (and the end of Louis Phillipe the ācitizen-kingā)
And last but not least the two Revolutions from 1830 and 1832.Ā the first, the July Revolution of 1830, was relatively small, but led to the fall of Charles X. and led to the investiture of Louis Phillipe called the ācitizen kingā. also had the revolt again impact on large parts of Central Europe (though not as massive as the later revolution of February 1848).
Because the second, the june revolution from 1832, i have only two words to describe my obsession: Les MisƩrables.Politically, the uprisings have led to nothing, and yet the June revolution of 1832 is one of the most famous uprisings of the French history. And why? Because a known writer barely 20 years later came up with the idea to use this uprising as a template for a novel that would gain worldwide fame. Whereupon 150 years later, someone make a musical, which is one of the most popular would be in the world. In this way, the June revolution of 1832 will never fall into oblivion, even if 800 people have died in vain and you have achieved nothing politically.
(sometimes I wonder, what would the revolutionary from 1832 say, when they were told that they politically indeed achieve anything, but would get their acts through a novel global celebrity.)
oh my gosh, now Iāve written half a novel. I hope all this weird ramblings has reasonably answered your question. If not, ask again ;)Ā
