Okay look… I just. I don’t even know what to say to this either tbh. Like, I fully support LGBTQ+ as well, that’s not even a question. It’s just that after this long? This many seasons? Of portraying Red as the confident, suave, sexy man that he is? (Not that you can’t be those things as a trans man, don’t get me wrong, please.) But we have so many examples of him flirting with women all over the globe i.e. Luli, Dr. Lipstick, Madeline, etc. (AGAIN, not that you can’t be super flirtatious as a trans man, that’s not what I’m saying at all.) It’s just that the audience has an image built up of Red and after 6 seasons of that image? I mean, TBL has had some plot twists but this would be the weirdest one yet. Just because it would be so unbelievably unexpected and not fit with a n y t h i n g we know about Red like. That would be such a “soap opera twist” that just wouldn’t make any sense in this show. And I really don’t think this ONE LINE OF DIALOGUE does anything to substantially support this “theory” meanwhile Lizzington has seasons worth of evidence but whtevr I don’t wanna pick a fight and I can’t help but think that these “Redarina” supporters are really just frustrated with the fact that OUR RED IS NOT LIZ’S FATHER and they want to shove him into some parental-shaped box in any way they can. I mean, ship and believe what you want but I can’t make any excuses for it. 0/10, do not recommend. That’s my opinion and view on the subject 😂 Thank you for the ask, I completely understand you! True! Our Red could just be shouldering the weight and responsibility for the real RR’s poor decisions and Dom could be none the wiser. And we all know that Red is a good actor so it’s totally possible that he’s fooled everyone except Dembe, who he presumably let in on the secret because he trusts him. I totally get this, omg!! Everything is so “Red (& Dembe) vs. the world” and it’s so disheartening, considering how hard he tries to be a compassionate criminal! :’) I’m not sure how much Red could really trust and rely on Dom, given that Dom really seems to hold some ill will towards him… but I certainly get what you mean :) And I think we all hope Liz can be a person like that for Red one day! *sigh* Moving on to your last one! <3
