The blood is laced with toxic chemicals, which may come from the venomous harvester ants (Pogonomyrmex) that the lizards eat. Although their blood isn’t poisonous, it tastes unpleasant to predators. Short-horned lizards aren't affected by the venom of the harvester ants they feed on because a chemical in their blood plasma neutralizes it. They also produce large amounts of mucus to immobilize the insects, enabling the lizards to swallow them without getting hurt by the venom.

“My Eno entry point was Talking Heads Remain In Light album which I bought on vinyl after hearing Once In A Lifetime on the radio. It was one of the first records in my collection and it’s still one of my top five favourite albums. After that I tracked down My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts, not easy in a small market town whose only source of sold music was Woolworths. As with the Talking Heads, the music knocked me sideways. I was 15 at the time. . Ambient 4 came along a lot later in my Eno exploration; I had already been enraptured by Music For Airports for several years. For me, it’s the essence of Eno’s definition of ambient as music “intended to induce calm and a space to think”, a carefully crafted creation that sounds organic, almost like field recordings. As if to emphasise that point most of the track titles are real places. Many of them familiar to me growing up in South Norfolk as they were to Eno growing up near Woodbridge in Suffolk only 25 miles away. . In the liner notes, Eno writes that his ideas of creating music that related to “a sense of place – landscape, environment… began with Another Green World” and developed further to encompass “places, times, climates and the moods that they evoke.” He goes on to describe his approach to composition as “composting” – earlier pieces and ideas digested and re-emerging into new substances. This album may well be Eno’s highpoint in his realisation of ambient music. For the detractors (usually those that don’t listen properly) this may sound like Muzak or something wishy-washy and nondescript, but for me the pieces conjure up memories of places visited in dreams, and imaginings of worlds still to explore.” .
