Behold... Guy Cardboard. To scale, he is about 5'6". I have been using him as a stand in reference for what it would look like if a person was occupying the space. Some issues, though - I do not have any sense of arms, hands size, head size etc. He is incredibly helpful for scaling doors, walls, and headroom for staircases. If Guy does not fit, that's a big problem. Most doors are 6 feet 8 inches tall. The taller the door, the more expensive the construction and the higher you expect to see the ceilings. For Pitcher and Petal (a plant store with a micro apartment above) Guy has helped me make sure there is plenty of headroom on the upstairs ladder and that the upper floor scaling makes sense for the apartment. I'm rebuilding the entire second floor after flubbing the first attempt, so understanding the scale was very necessary.
