2/1/24.
Kerry Cardoza's "Best of Punk" article dropped the other day, and she won me over right off the bat with The Spatulas (Cambridge, Massachusetts). Miranda Soileau-Pratt is an East Coast transplant who originally hung around with Portland artists Lithic and Collate.
This is decidely low-fi pop. There's a definite K Records feel, but the vocals remind me more of Barbara Manning. And the overall sound is reminscent of a less loud but equally clanky Chronophage (the bands do share the fact that Post Present Medium has released some of their work).
Miranda Soileau-Pratt was also a member of Eugene, Oregon band The Blimp.

Har har, shatter.
Made an almost perfect microlith blade with my mattock at work!

LITHIC x JEEKS x SABA TNR
I like them in the parallel world.
and... sad.
Lichen on stone. Where the lichen has passed, the fluorescence of the stone has changed significantly. The way the fluorescence and translucency of the crystal manifests makes it look like a terrible high-pass filter was applied to the image, but it’s basically straight out of camera.
