Every now and again, you need a girls day! We took off in Mon Ami and headed to Irvine Spectrum. I can’t actually say I had been there at all before, and if I had, it had been awhile. It is a massive outdoor mall. Organized enough that if you put in the address of where you are going, you will get close to it. 

We had an appointment for Lip Lab in the early afternoon and I wanted enough time to play the parking game. I somehow thought, its early in the afternoon I should be able to find a spot-and we just barely got lucky and found one nearby. We parked, and went to a guide looking for our store. 

I swear, we were inches from it and did not realize so for about 10 minutes? We used the restroom and then went in. My cousin turned me on to this, and its a place where you make your own custom lip stick. Make up goes bad, and one should replace it about once a year. About a year ago, I got a four pack of Shiseido lipstick and found I really only used like one or two. For the cost of a new four pack, I could just have a go to color and use it every day of my picking. Price is about the same. A little more upfront to make it yourself, but once you make it, its cheaper to buy a refill. 

So we go in, and I go first. I decide to go for an “everyday purple”. I love purple. They have 4 options of finishes, and the first one I tried was luminous and then sheer. Its a smidgen too dark for everyday, and we go for round 2. Oh you can also choose a scent to be built into the lipstick. Next my sister goes, and she is new to make up so she goes for a nude pink? It looks amazing on her. Colors picked, we choose a font and a Name, we go with our middle names. 

All decisions made, we watch them get made in front of us. We also grab a bag, lip scrub, lip mask, and lip liner. All great products I love them all, only missing a lip plumper. After that we walk around and find ourselves in a Book store. The cashier was a doll, totally seeing two girls dressed up alone buying romance books, as he told us “Enjoy your celtic literature”. Good man. 

We meandered around a bit, located the restaurant we had planned to eat it, and decided to stay close by. We walked into a Doc Marten store, which I was surprised to see they had one, and I walked out in a new pair of doc martens. Like truly, how is a store allowed to exist? 

After that we go to Torrid, and it is probably the biggest location I have been in. I find a dress for myself I otherwise would not go for, it is Orange of all colors. But it is so pretty and I do a whole outfit change. 

After that, we see if we can’t get into Fogo De Chao early. I had been to a Brazilian Steak House once or twice before, and my sister had never been. You eat all you can eat between waiters that rotate meat to your table, and a buffet of complimentary vegetables and cheeses, as well as classic sides brought to your table. It was amazing.
