Shoe shopping

I drew this a while back but I don’t think I ever posted it! 

it’s Life and Death having a quick catch up

Life is just a woman living on Earth. She has houses all over the place and is in all of them simultaneously. She spends her days knitting and cooking and just generally creating and making because the amount of energy it takes to be mother of all overflows in her and she tends to go mad with it if she stops for too long. Her appearance morphs and changes slowly over time, hitting different ages and races but always female. Death visits so rarely that she seems a wholly distinct woman each time

Death lives and works in the underworld and simply adores all the things Life makes. They work hard and when they’ve gotten through the backlog of souls they’ll pop up to Earth, taking a body that’s died near one of Life’s homes, and turn up for a chat. They adore clothing and music particularly and entertain a slightly romantic notion whenever something they particularly like comes into the underworld that perhaps Life had a specific hand in that and made it specially for them

their conversations usually follow a line of, 

I’m busy, wh- oh, hello you old thing

Hi, you’re looking well! Oh, did you see they made new shoes? Have you seen the new shoes?

I’m not much into shoes, Death, you know that. Look at you, you’re so young this time

Yes yes but they’ve got little buckles on them now and a shiny tip, they’re so nice! And have you heard that song? It’s like da da-da-da dum dedum

Oh has that made it’s way to you at last? I thought you’d like that. Now, I’ve made a couple of pies this morning, you look famished

Ach, this body doesn’t have those middle organs unfortunately, I don’t think I can get away with eating. Besides, I gotta get back quick, there’s a plague picking up over in India that’ll get me busy. I’ll take some to go , though, if you can spare it
