hi! for the prompt thing: #9 "You're in love with her" but not a person - "her" is something/someone unexpected. or whatever you want of course!
Hello! Thank you for being so patient while Iâve worked through these prompts. (I still have a few to go.) I hope this one hits the spot.
âGood morning, sweetheart! You sure do look beautiful today.â
Jack startled at the sound of Bittleâs voice, still not used to sharing his space with another person. Sharing it with Bittle. This was different than when theyâd lived together in the Haus, or his visit to Madison. In the short time heâd been in his condo here in Providence, heâd become accustomed to his solitary living situation. The realization that Bittle was actually here (though only for a few more days) was still a sweet surprise.
âMorning, Bits,â Jack replied, not looking up from the cup of coffee he was preparing. He poured in what he thought was the right amount of cream and swirled it a bit, assessing the color. Heâd committed to learning as much as he could about one Eric Bittle during this visit, and that included how he took his coffee. This thing between them was still so new, yet he could easily imagine beginning each day just like this for the rest of his life.
He wanted to be prepared.
âIt feels like a muffin morning, doesnât it?â Bittle murmured. âBlueberry? Or maybe chocolate chip, how does that sound? Something decadent to go with our coffee?â
Jack set the mug on the counter. Coffee was good, but Bittleâs good morning kisses were infinitely better. (Theyâd already had one go at it this morning, before Jackâs run.) He turned toward his boyfriend, ready to kiss him again, when he realized ⌠Bittle wasnât talking to him at all.
âI guess it doesnât matter what we make; youâre so perfect youâll be able to handle anything. Not like that hand mixer back at the Haus. Sheâs a real sweet girl but sheâs let me down a few times,â Bittle said to the bright red KitchenAid stand mixer theyâd unboxed together yesterday afternoon.
âBittle, are you talking to ⌠the mixer?â Jack asked, fighting a grin.
âItâs Millie and yes, Iâm just wakinâ her up,â Bittle replied, easily falling into Jackâs open arms. He rested his head on Jackâs chest.
âYouâre in love with her, arenât you?â Jack chirped. The look on Bittleâs face had definitely said as much yesterday when Jack had surprised him with the gift.
(Jack had called it a âhousewarming present.â
âHoney, I think Iâm the one whoâs supposed to be giving you the housewarming present,â Bitty had said fondly.
âI want you to feel at home here,â Jack had replied. âThis is your place too.â)
âWell, yes, a little,â Bittle admitted now. âI canât help it, sheâs the third most beautiful thing Iâve ever laid eyes on.â
Jack snorted. âWhat are the first two?â
âBeyoncĂŠ at the Met Gala and, well, you know.â Bittle slyly reached around and grabbed a handful of Jackâs ass.
âWell, good to know I outrank a kitchen appliance, at least,â Jack said with a wry grin.
âOh, sweetheart, you know youâll always be my number one,â Bittle said, reaching up and planting a quick kiss on Jackâs cheek.
âLiterally. Itâs on my jersey.â
âYouâre awful.â Wiggling out of Jackâs embrace, Bittle turned back toward his workspace. âSo, do you have a preference? Blueberry or chocolate chip?â
âHow about both?â Jack suggested, already opening the cupboard where theyâd put the baking supplies theyâd bought yesterday. âSo I have leftovers after youâve gone back to Samwell.â Not that Jack even wanted to think about Bittle leaving when heâd just gotten here. Since Bittle did eventually have to leave, Jack reasoned, the extra baked goods he was sure to leave behind would help the place feel like home in his absence.
âBoth is perfect,â Bittle breathed, moving in for another kiss.
