I am still here, just been very busy lately! A good friend is in town from Canada and we’ve been having Good Times since we haven’t seen each other in about 15 years.

From root CIYUP-/CIYUPP- ‘amusement, entertainment, laugh’. It also gives ciyuppa ‘be amusing, amuse, entertain’, ciupplis ‘joke, word play, riddle’, ciyuppetolla ‘pun-making, punnery’.

So I am thinking of cross-posting my Twitter habit of posting a new conlang word everyday as a part of #Lextreme2018, in which conlangers make a new word each day for a year (it started with #Lexember last year in December, but I couldn’t stop :P). I actually end up making more than one a day, but I stick to posting one per day. Also, if any of you are on Twitter, feel free to check it out there. I’m @MintakaGlow there too! I mostly tweet about conlangs, lanugage, linguistics, history, and random things I find interesting or important. 

Today’s word was for Ori, which is the newest baby of the Aeniithian conlang family, so I’ve been trying to expand its lexicon as much as possible lately. 

Ori: [adj] cyume /'kʲume/ 'wet, damp, humid' 

 From the root cyum-, which also gives cyumin 'become wet', cyumma-yal 'wetness', hacyuli-s 'oasis', cyumuya-s 'feeling of humidity in the air before rain', cyumu-s 'wet thing'
