Butterflies Suffer Devastating Year After Wet Summer (UK)

Any lepidopterists out there? Found this beheMoth (oh yeah) at my folks place out in east Travis County.Â
What kind of moth is this?Â
Mothra update: According to both 985374 and the folks at butterfliesandmoths.org this is indeed Hyalophora cecropia, the largest of the native North American moths. What hasn’t been confirmed is the average annual toll these moths take on small dogs, outside cats and unattended children.
