The Petworth Book of Country House Cookery: An English Country House Dating to 1150
âPetworth House has been the home of the Leconfield family since it was granted to them by Queen Adeliza, the second wife of Henry 1, in 1150. And it is now lived in by Lord Egremont, a family member, who grew up in the house in the 1950s, just after it was gifted to the National Trust in 1947. As a boy, he recalls a full staff of butler, cook, kitchen maids and a footman, and each meal wasâŚ

A Day on the Green.Mein erster Job. Klingt gut was? Fand ich auch :D Es gibt definitiv schlechtere Jobs um Geld zu verdienen.Das Konzert war Ăźbrigens mega, optimal um einfach mal zu heiraten wie die Beiden. Ganz Aussie-like in Flipflops.<3
6.11.14: 11. day on Leconfield (last day)
It was the last full day on Leconfield. After breakfast we did a small muster, actually it was only that we pushed cattle from paddock into the next one. Then we had a little photoshooting under the Leconfield sign with group amd single pictures. We had lunch and filled out the comment sheets. After we finished that we made the horse games. It were 6 different games and one individual game. I got the second place at the individual game but our team lost the horse games because of two needless disqualifications. Back at the stables we had to clean the blenkets, the saddles and the bridles. It was a weird situation to let the horses go and know that it was the last time. Then our work on Leconfield was done. We had a time for taking a shower and packing. Before dinner Anette, Carmel, Hannah, Jesse, Jessica, Michaela, Rob and i drove with Rob's car to the top off one paddock where we could see the beautiful skyline and had lots of fun. We sang and took many photos before we drove back for dinner. We had a BBQ and warm apple crumble with ice cream again, it was so delicious! When it was "party night". Normally every school could choose a theme for the night but we hadn't find a good one so we just made a small party without a theme. Later Brian came to Pinky's and danced for a while with us, there you couldn't notice that he is already so 90 years old. We also wrote on the wall of Pinky's lounge room, which is allowed before you leave such as a guestbook.
5.11.14: 10. day on Leconfield
Day task was mustering again, but this time not the âwood chequeâ paddock. The muster was on âback paddock â which we repaired the day before. It was a bit harder then the muster on âwood cheque â because it has many hills and is also a big paddock. Around 12 p.m we had them in the yards. Then we had to separate the carves from the other cattle and also the ear-marked carves from the non ear-marked. We only needed the non ear-marked carves, they got a earmark in one ear and a identification nummer in the other. This was hannahs and my task to make them in the ears which was hard to get them in. After the got the marks they got a brandmark as well and the boys were castrated. It was a new experience but for me one time was enough to do that. On the way back Hannah, Bradley and I did some short race, which was much more fun then riding back rhe other days, but i had no chance against them which Jewels. The Problem was also that the sky got very dark and a thounderstrom stood before. We were a few minutes before the thounderstrom stared finished with the brush down off the horses. So in the evening we sat inside of Pinkyâs lounge room, ate chocolate and chips and played UNO.

1.11.14: 6. day on Leconfield
Saturday was the day off. Most of us went to Tamworth city because three of the people from our school are from Australia and had their car with them. We drove with Rob and Randi to Tamworth, on our way we saw a dead kangaroo and a baby in the middle of the street sadly normal in Australia. In the city we went to the library for Wifi but this time it was so bad that we couldnât do anything. Then we met the others and went to a pub for lunch. After lunch we drove back to Leconfield. Later we went to the waterhole again, this time with Robâs car. Only 10 minutes after we came back it started to rain and that meant really much rain but luckily it stopped around 10 p.m. This night was pizza night so we ate pizza and banana bread and listened to the rain. This evening was very short, we talked for a time, played one round âkillerâ and went then to bed because we were very tired and the next day was our milking day.
30.10.14: 4. day on Leconfield
After two days on horseback that horses had a day off. So we had to build yards. First we had to collect rocks on the creek and got them on the truck. The paddock were we had to work was far away from the farm so we got there in the cattle truck where the stiers were in the day before, now i know how cattle feel in a truck. Then we had to bring wood piers for the yard on the normal truck, when we drove back he sat on the piers on the truck. After lunch we had to dig many holes, we already felt like the boys in the book âholesâ which we read in school. When the holes were deep enough we putted a pier into the hole and then we had to make it straight and stable in the bottom what was really hard work. Dinner was Lasagna for me and Louisa, one of the two âcookiesâ, there was also a vegetarian one with coliflower. First i thought i couldnât eat somrthing on this day but i tried it and, even when i actually really hate cauliflower, it was okay. The dessert was rice pudding but it was more like rice in warm milk just because Brian likes it this way.
29.10.14: 3. day on Leconfield
On the third day we had our first muster. We rode to one off the cattle paddocks called âWood chequeâ. We had to bring them all into the yards. First it was a bit weird to start shouting behind the cattle to move them. We made one big mop and bought them to the yards. On the sites were the âsiteridersâ , their task was it that no cattle get out off the mop. Behind the cattle is the âscreamteamâ they had to make noise that the cattle go into the yards. Our first muster was not that good but there was so much new what you have to remember. After a lunch break with Sandwiches, like every day we had lunch outsite on the paddock, we had to weight every stier who was in the yard. Everyone got a task and then we started to each stier on the scale, when he was more then 350kg we came in one part of the yard, when he was under 350kg in an other part. Brian, the owner, who is already over 90 years old, also came in his red car and watched. The stiers under 350kg came in an other paddock with a cattletruck. We rod to the paddock and had to bring them to the damm. But the broke out and it was very difficult to bring them back on the right way. After a delicious dinner with warm apple crumble with ice cream as dessert we met at âPinkyâs lounge roomâ talked and played a game on the dart board which is called âkillerâ.
