like reading a fanfic and amy says "my cousin" and we immediately go "yeah ok crystal time lets go"

Here comes Laserdream! I wanted to make a pin-up poster of sorts that fans in the book universe would hang on their walls (I'm sure Greg had a lot of those). I made three versions because I always have a hard time choosing, lol

The design on the costume doesn't quite match the description in the book because I didn't like how it looked in practice. "As Laserdream, Crystal wore a white costume with an emblazoned, stylized arrow pointing down and to her right. Several lines trailed behind it over her left shoulder, with a single line zigzagging across the others" - as described in the book…in reality, I just ended up with a mess of lines. So I took some creative liberties. The last screenshot is what I would have done to make the design more "corresponding to the description". Maybe the problem is me and I'm somehow misunderstanding the description, lol

Having said that, I keep thinking about Lisa/Crystal, especially in the context of post-gm and post-Ward.

Lisa/Victoria is the default for that era, but consider like. Lisa is watching Victoria destroy herself price by piece because she can't help it (neither of them can), and in this process finds a kindred spirit on Crystal. And Crystal isn't perfect, she's also throwing herself at problems and heroism, but... Crystal has something Victoria and Taylor lacked: some amount of self preservation.

More than that, like. Crystal is the perfect sort of dork for Lisa. Relies on her power for petty bullshit, needs structure to define her position in the world, and is way more intelligent than people give her credit for. They have these things in common, but in a way that feels complimentary. They make each other better, build one another up.

1. What’s up with her eye? She’s described as always having her hair covering it and I would have probably just dismissed that as a hairstyle choice but in one line it’s referred to as her “bad eye” and then never brought up again

2. Why do people keep calling her Crystal Dallon? The Capricorn twins’ dad refers to her with the Dallon surname in his internal monologue I think in the interlude at the beginning of arc 15 and that could be dismissed as him just assuming that’s her name because she’s related to Victoria, but then Narwhal does it too in I think 17.4 or 17.5? And then like two lines later also refers to Carol as Crystal’s mom before correcting herself. Am I just reading too much into this like what is going on
