What if Amy triggered and ran away when the Brockton bay brigade took down marquis, then Carol spent the next 11 years preparing for her to come back and take revenge.
She's already thought out every way Amy might try to hurt her and how to counter them, has trained Vicky specifically to fight someone with similar powers to marquis, and even carries a picture of Amy around so she doesn't forget what she looks like.
Only when they do meet again, Amy's pretty much forgotten all about her. She's a hero with a new family and lives a relatively normal happy life. Meaning all of Carol's stress and planning was for nothing.
Amy moves back to the bay with her family and makes friends with Vicky. Carol's going mad trying to figure out her secret plan but Amy doesn't even recognize the Dallons, she just likes Vicky. Every conversation is a one sided battle of wits for Carol and super weird for everyone else.

Amy (and Victoria!) sketch that’s been sitting in my wips foreeever. Been having thoughts about them recently as I’ve been thinking about the parahumans-verse again❤️💛 I’m very normal and not insane about the worst day of Victoria’s life also being the worst day of Amy’s, and how one arc/moment that I completely bounced off of the first time I read it would spiral out into one of my favorite pieces of fiction ever. Crazy how that happens!
