So Lark has the Hair-Hair Devil Fruit (that I invented for her itās not canon in the show) and it gives her the ability to use her hair like a rope or to trip people or swing from it, whatever! But I have it scripted that it becomes ānormal hairā if it is cut from her head. So like if she tied up someone but then they cut it, it would fall away and she couldnāt control it anymore.
BUT WHAT IF I CHANGED IT and she was able to control her hair that wasnāt connected to her?? Like she could cut off a section of her hair and the control the strands to be super straight and use Haki (one piece term) to make it be stronger and she could basically HAVE KNIVES/SWORDS!!!!

Hey! :) Does your DR follow the canon series, but with Lark just added into the storyline or did you script something different?

Short answer:Ā Lark is written into the canon plot with a few subtle changes here and there to the original story. And additionalĀ āplotsā written in to flesh out her character. Otherwise, everything is the same!
Longer answer: sheās homeless and just wanders around after she runs away from her parents and ends up on an island called Thriller Bark. She meets the canon characters on that island and is friends with a character called Perona. After like 10 years on that island the Straw Hat pirates show up!Ā
In canon, they come, they fight the bad guys, they leave.
In my version, Lark fights them and gets taken as aĀ āhostageā by them, but saves them by telling them she can help and guide them through the island safely. (since she has lived there for so long) So theyĀ āteam upā with her and normal plot happens but then Lark realizes she doesnāt want to be stuck on that island forever. So she sorta has a change of heart and wants to BE with the Straw Hats and sail off the island with them.Ā
In the canon, Usopp fights Perona, he wins, and thatās it.
In MY version, Perona finds out that LarkĀ ābetrayed herā and gets super pissed and Perona tries to attack The Straw Hats. But Lark gets in between her and them and fights her best friend.Ā ((Perona is evil (well sorta complicated anyways) so she thinks Lark turning good is like THE WORST)) So they fight but in the end they are equally matched and Perona just saysĀ āfuck it, whatever leave. I donāt want you here anyway.ā And so Lark is faced with if she stays with herĀ ānormalā life on Thriller Bark with Perona, or if she finally leaves and sails out to sea like sheās always wanted. (We all know what she chose lol)
And after they leave the island, things continue as normal in the plot! The main change I made is just that islandās arch.Ā
