Adam when you were pregnant with the twins did you ever take a Lamaze class to help prepare yourself for birth? And if you haven’t you should think about it for next time because it’s also a good bonding time with Lucifer and Eve
Adam: I did and it was a very wonderful experience with my husband and wife. I also met some very bad ass soon to be mothers. I definitely want to do it again when I am pregnant. We even did it when Eve was pregnant with Jonathan as well. It is nice to see how much has been made to help pregnant people.

Know The Role Of Doulas To The Laboring Mothers
Summary: For many first-time expectant moms, the idea of labor can be a daunting prospect. Questions and concerns about labor, delivery and childbirth may become overwhelming, and expectant mothers often wish for more time in discussion and preparation than is permitted in the quick office visits with the obstetrician.
That is why many expectant mothers are turning to doulas, who serve along with the other professionals involved in the mother's care. The doula's role is to focus her care and provide support to the laboring mother, which she does by providing information, assisting the expectant mother in developing her birthing plan, and giving physical and emotional care during the labor and potentially after childbirth as well.
Birth Doula, and the expectant mothers they serve, often begin with discussions regarding the expectant mother’s hopes and expectations for her childbirth experience. These discussions help to bring the expectant mother and her doula into a positive relationship of understanding, so that the expectant mother can be assured that the doula knows, and can be relied upon to act on, her wishes when the moment arises during labor. Many doulas assist their clients in developing a birth plan. Whether the mother seeks a natural childbirth or requires a Caesarian delivery, the doula can provide for the mother's comfort throughout her birthing experience. Having the support of a doula allows other family members to rest or assist the mother's older children while knowing that the mother is in good care.
While doulas receive training and are knowledgeable about pregnancy and labor, they are not medical professionals and do not give medical advice. The doula's primary role during childbirth is to provide the physical assistance and emotional support necessary to foster a safe and comforting environment for the mother in labor. Doulas assist mothers in practices designed to reduce the pain and physical discomfort of labor, through the use of relaxation and breathing techniques, as well as massage. While doulas are equipped to serve as labor companions, they do not seek to replace the emotional support and encouragement of a partner or family member, and will take cues from the laboring mother to offer the support that she seeks. When a spouse or partner is actively involved in supporting the laboring mother, a Postpartum Doula will step back and offer other forms of assistance, but is ready to support the mother in the event the partner becomes fatigued or overwhelmed.
After the birth, families may choose the services of a postpartum doula, to provide support for new mothers as she cares for the newborn baby. Lamaze Class can assist with household chores such as cleaning or cooking, or pitch in to help with the new arrival so that the mother can rest. Register here: https://healthybirthclass.com/register
So I'm rewatching "Alone" from season 7 and there is this scene you may know where Mulder comes to pick up Scully for what we are lead to believe is a Lamaze appointment. Mulder seems to know a few things and of course jokes it is because he is unemployed and searches Oprah. I would absolutely love a scene of MSR at the Lamaze class with Mulder showing off more of his knowledge and maybe the husbands/ partners around them get a bit peeved. Or if you could recommend if it's already been done
This is my best effort. I stressed over this one a little, because I am not a parent, and I have never had occasion to attend a Lamaze class in real life. It’s probably not as happy as you had hoped. Times were rough for them after Mulder returned from the grave. Anyway, that’s my way of saying thanks for being patient.
Side note: I enjoyed finding out that Dr. Lamaze was influenced by the childbirth practices of the Soviet Union.
If any other fic writers want to take a crack at this, parents maybe, I am sure more are welcome. Or if you know any that exist already, oh masters of the fic recs, share away.

Mulder thought back to the stack of books on his coffee table at home, pages dogeared and marked with pencil. He'd devoured the information since he returned, all those nights he couldn't sleep, nights he knew he should have been with Scully but couldn't. Still, his guilt had compelled him to be useful, and now it was paying off.
"Oprah," he quipped. "I watch a lot of Oprah."
The joke had lightened the mood just a little, he could see that on her face. The next thing he knew they were back to talking about work again, about the x-files, their ultimate context, but at least it was something. They were talking rather than standing in awkward silence.
When they entered the small room there were ten other couples inside. Some of them were standing close to each other and talking, some of them were holding hands. Most were married couples, but there was also one other couple with no rings, and two women who were accompanied by other women, one of which was obviously with her mother.
"I'll put our yoga mat down," Mulder offered, walking to the corner of the room where the non-traditional couples seem to have gathered. He wondered if it had just happened or if it was intentional. For him it was premeditated, in part because he hoped there would be fewer questions about his relationship status and partly because he belonged in the fringe.
"Mulder," he said, shaking hands and smiling as the others introduced themselves. He turned to introduce Scully, but she was still standing by the door. "Excuse me, I seem to have lost my Lamaze partner."
He was about to ask her how she was feeling when the instructor called for them all to pull the chairs in a circle. The first half of the class was about knowing when to go to the hospital and that kind of general information. Scully was, of course, comfortable with her level of knowledge in this area.
Mulder surprised her by knowing several of the answers, and she glanced at him sideways and smirked. He had originally intended to amaze Dr. Scully with all of his new knowledge, but instead he found himself staring at her face for most of the question and answer time, trying to gauge her mood.
For the second half of the class they moved to the yoga mats, the partners sat behind the mothers, who sat cross-legged in front of them.
Scully sat with her back straight and stiff, but she softened a little when the instructor talked about trust and communication. At least, he thought, they had half of that equation.
"Let's talk about the importance of voicing our fears," the instructor began, and his heart began to panic. There were too many fears. He could not unleash them upon Scully, so he kept them to himself.
As the woman talked, he balled up his fists. Shouldn't they be practicing their breathing? He wanted to do that.
"Let's try some relaxation techniques," the teacher said, as if in answer to his prayers.
Scully's hand rested on his knee for support as she scooted back to lean against him. Her eyes closed, and she sighed deeply, deflating into his arms, which he wrapped around her at her belly. The lights dimmed. Someone started playing Enya, and he chuckled, his laugh shaking the three of them. She didn't open her eyes, but he felt her relax just a little.
Birthing Classes and Baby Basics
New Post! Birthing Classes and Baby Basics #ontheblog #babyp
We’re down to our last six weeks before Baby P’s big arrival. In preparation, we’ve spent two Saturdays this month and one Tuesday night heading over to St. Charles Hospital where we’ll deliver to take some classes that will hopefully help us on the big day as well as after Baby P arrives.
We took a Lamaze class offered by the hospital on the two Saturdays. It’s interesting, in my experience,…
