typhoon #11 will return…
hot girl summer semester is officially over, here are some photos from my last day in my cryo EM rotation 😭 I’ll miss it, but hopefully I’ll be able to do some more measurements in my phd proper. I also made a killer tres leches cake and got an A in my quantum engineering class, so a great week.

Thanksgiving looks a little different this year
(Don’t worry, I have washed the mask)
Best news of the day:
2/13/19 ~ My first solo reaction was a success! I obtained pure, clean product. My mentor was very impressed and proud. I am over the moon and cannot wait to start the next reaction tomorrow!!

Happy new semester! Classes started yesterday for me, and today began my first day in the lab. They’re starting me off with trainings in histology, so I spent today familiarizing myself with organs of mice and doing cross sections of the tissues.
Now on to videos for my nutrition class in the morning. I’m also in another biochem class, which focuses on gene expression, and a pathophysiology class, which I’m SUPER excited about.
Hope your FDOC went well for you, or goes well if you haven’t had it yet. ✨

The countdown began a while ago, but today is my last Wednesday/WFH day before my last day of work on the 3rd. Spending it with our current political event going on in the background.
Final grades came in, and I am very happy with my first semester of grad school. Not perfect, but I’m very pleased with how hard I worked, especially with stats and pulling myself out of the hole from my first exam. I’m very pleased with my post-baccalaureate GPA, a welcome change from my undergrad one, and I look forward to being able to work even harder next semester to keep improving it.
Also, I’m super excited about getting to work in the lab. Telling everyone that I’m “going back to school full time to do research under a PI” is really fun to say, even if I have a bit of imposter syndrome cropping up.
Happy Wednesday, friends, and happy holidays to you and yours. ✨

Two and a half years somehow fit into 8 notebooks
Tomorrow is my last day of work as a clinical researcher, and then Monday begins the new semester
On Monday, I’ll be a full time student again, and I’ll start in the lab and then in clinical the next week
Here’s to a new year, a new decade, a new semester
Here’s to new beginnings ✨
