Not a utopia for those who have “anxiety” about tests,
or get nervous about speaking in front of others,
A utopia for those who are terrified of the trivial.
A utopia for those who are petrified in fear of
the slightest stomachache or the smallest headache,
frightened that an ailment has befallen them.
A utopia for those who have meltdowns at any given moment,
due to any possible trigger,
such as a knocked over cup,
or being touched by another person,
or something that stresses them out so much that they
trying hard to not scream
just shaking on the ground.
A utopia for those who fear things more that your “average” person.
A utopia for those who are so terrified of germs,
they wash their hands till they’re raw,
or those who are so afraid to speak,
they never say a word to anyone but themselves.
A utopia where they can live a tranquil life.
A utopia where they can be afraid,
A utopia where they can finally be free of their fears.
A utopia where they can finally be free of everything.
A utopia where they can finally just be free.
This is for a project in my Language Art's class. We were supposed to describe a Utopia for ourselves or a certain group of people. I decided to do mine on anxiety, because I have been diagnosed by a doctor with Generalized Anxiety. Yes, that's a thing. It was a bit hard for me to write this, but I really hope you all like it, and the message it carries across about the difference between just being nervous, and actually having legit anxiety about something.
