I am the Queen of my kingdom, inherited from my father. I was raised in a sheltered environment, born and bred to be a ruler, formal and governing. I never interacted w/ others much, inexperienced in the art of conversation.

The people I ruled over believed I was a deity, a deity who controlled the outflow of monsters from the nearby Forest. This Forest was home to fae, megafauna, trickster spirits and devils of all kinds. It was thick with magic and only those willing to follow its ever-changing rules survived a trek through its pathless darkness. The only concern there, of course, is that I don’t control the outflow. I have no idea how to control the outflow of monsters, and I don’t know a thing about the Forest.

Which made it all the more shocking when a traveler emerged from the wood.

Kurloz is a prince turned priest after tragedy made his carefree and consequence-less life come to a grinding halt. He took an oath of silence and dedicated his life to learning the art of magic and communicating with spirits.

Of course, I’d immediately want to take him in as an Adviser. He knows what I could never hope to know, but everything comes with a price. Upon enlisting Kurloz into my kingdom, it creates tension between his clan and mine. Which could lead to war, if we were found out.
