A dense wall of electronics and sultry brooding bass lines greets our ears on Phase, the latest from Leeds producer and songwriter Krrum, or Alex Carrie. The dark smoldering affair is a rich and succulent taste from his debut album Honeymoon, due to arrive June 15th via 37 Adventures / +1 Records. He melds dance rock, pop, and alt electro on the bold and brazen song, kind of like Joywave and KOPPS meets LCD Soundsystem, with some Twin Shadow evoking vocals. Stream/download swarthy smoldering Phase, here.
Our new single ‘Moon’ is OUT today!
Here's the lyric video which we made all by ourselves starring Millie Malir. x
This one came as a massive surprise when it cropped up in the scene yesterday, but I wholeheartedly dove into it straightaway, being the big fan of both rising Leeds project Krrum and longtime Swedish electro duo CAZZETTE that I am. The soulful electropop jam that is Krrum’s Evil Twin is still one of my favorites from the artist. I never expected to see CAZZETTE giving it a remix treatment, but here we are, blissfully swaying to the jagged euphoria that is this entrancing indie dance re-work. The remix arrives as a part of Krrum’s just released Evil Twin 2017 EP, which dropped at the same time as the official Evil Twin video. If you missed the music video, you can catch it, here.
Hesitation is a foreign affair when ti comes to checking out new music, particularly when it comes from UK producer Daktyl and it features Leeds’ Krrum. We enter a state of sublime introspection and tranquil contemplation as we enter the exquisite electronic soundscape they’ve created together on The Act Of Hesitation, the title track from Daktyl’s new EP arriving on June 20th. Krrum’s buttery falsettos and Daktyl’s ornately haunting downtempo electronica are a flawless and fluid current of sanguine bliss. Imagine if Justin Vernon delved deeper into experimental electronica waters, perhaps with a little help from his good buddy James Blake. There’d be no hesitation to surrender yourself to that creation, just as there should be none when it comes to The Act Of Hesitation from Daktyl. The single is out now via Counter Records. Stream/download, here.
