Perhaps the most underrated album from a top K-pop company this year. SHINee’s Lee Taemin comes back with his 2nd full album MOVE. The said album consists of 9 tracks, from dance to ballads and R&B songs, the album finds itself being cohesive and offering something for almost everyone. MOVE, the title track doesn’t find itself following the “general” K-pop formula of hook songs, however, the song is indeed catchy. A song that could have easily fit for a Michale Jackson pop era, Madonna, 80s, 90s, and even now, it stands out as a low-key dance and sensual pop song. Yet the star of the album is Taemin himself. For a veteran artist, SHINee debuted on 2008, Taemin’s growth and maturity shows through the album. Not only that, is perhaps one of the best well planned out transitions from cute to mature and sensual images in K-pop. Instead of forcing the artist to adapt to said image and sound, the image and sound were used as additions to enhance and enforce his growth and maturity.
Personally, I cannot wait for Taemin to dominate digital charts, considering that his music is never common for K-pop and it doesn’t follow the trend. The kid grew up and he has the potential to have a healthy solo career as well. Yet he is still Taebaby to me. ┐(︶▽︶)┌
Please give Taemin lots of support. MOVE Music Video
