We should talk about Starfire and her mischaracterization.

Recently DC has been doing her good BUT I met a classmate who reads DC comics and knows characters like Booster Gold or all 5 Robins, and if you know how it feels to meet someone you can ramble to, you know it's a good feeling. ANYWAYS, when I said my favorite character was Starfire, guess what he said.

"Oh, the Himbo?"

........ Yeahh, I ended that conversation pretty quickly. It had me think about all of the times she was reduced to a naive Nightwing loving girl who LOVES sex. Which hurts when she's MUCH more than that. They also kept taking her signature characteristics like her big curly hair and now they made her SHORT.

Like oh my god.

I love this queen more than anything, after all she is the reason why I got into DC otherwise I would have been a Marvel fan since they have Wanda. In my opinion the EASIEST way to describe Starfire is a combination of Wonder Woman and Superman (assuming people actually know what Superman is supposed be like). She's supposed to have a good heart, kind, and always interested to learn about humanity just like Superman, BUT she's also a warrior similar to Wonder Woman.

I mean how can we gloss over the fact that she was betrayed and outcasted by her sister, then enslaved and was tortured for 6 years which does include physical abuse, emotional abuse AND sexual abuse (which is why her getting mad at Nightwing about Mirage didn't make sense to me but that's a whole separate thing). Then she was kidnapped by ANOTHER alien group that experimented on her which is how she got her powers, then when she escaped that time, that's when she ended up on Earth.

Guys, I hope this kind of love finds you.

I feel like the Kory fans are adopting me and I must consume Kory related romance stories now!!
