i like how everytime king and loop are close to one another, the king is negatively affected or feeling negative in one way or another
i honestly kinda feel bad
soon enough they'll react to loop's presence similarly to how canon sif would react to the idea of telling others about the loops
It really isn't as bad as it looks, at first glance.
A lot of the more actively antagonistic and downright mean actions from Loop come pretty early on their journey, but they mellow out as time goes on and they have more of their family around (and, slowly, learn to enjoy Sunshine's company, as much as they hate to admit it).
King, too, isn't just passively taking all of this for nothing; I subscribe to the headcanon that, to the people of the Forgotten Island, stars are much like angels: servants of the greater power that come to guide and aid those in need. If all of this had come from anyone else, King would have bailed on the first week. But since it's from a star, well, they have to know what they're doing, right?
Further into their adventure, though, this compliance out of religious respect is replaced by a sort of recognition; this star, divine as they may look, is deeply and undeniably human. They spite and grieve as anyone else, their actions are no more influenced by the Universe than his own. They're just another person, and a very hurt one at that.
And to hopefully make up for all the negative situations I put these two through, here's some post-actually communicating with each other and finally getting along drawings <3
