A traumatic experience causes them to divide into two versions of themself: one determined optimist who is able to function reasonably well in daily life, and one cynical pessimist who holds the memories of their trauma. they need to help each other and work together to achieve Siffrin's happy ending. that seems pretty plural to me

In TBOI you play as isaac. There are over 20 characters you can play for a run, but you're always playing isaac, still. TBOI is about running through a nightmareish unreal space composed of all of isaac's fears and traumas and nearly all of them are warped reflections of himself. He's abused and deeply troubled because of it. Isaac is extraordinarily plural as an entirety and I'm really normal about it. Vote for him please
