Here's a better love story for Lydia Martin... So, in the first seasons we know she's dating Jackson and hasn't got any other love interest (the kiss with Scott was just a move to make Jackson jealous). But she secretly fell for Allison. Maybe their relationship started as a joke, Lydia saying she's her best friend just because of a jacket she was wearing, but Allison shook Lydia's world. Suddenly, being popular and dating the captain of the lacrosse team wasn't what she wanted. Allison took care of her, just like any good friend would, but Lydia didn't know until then because all of her "friends" were fake. They stood with her because she was the most popular girl and dated Jackson. Yeah, Lydia started falling for Allison. But she kept it as a secret, because at the time Allison was crushing Scott and was the whole Kanima and Jackson being a double douche. But still, non of that stopped Lydia from falling for the hunter. And Allison felt something for Lydia too, even with still crushing Scott. That's why she visited Lydia at the hospital when she was beaten (and felt guilty about it), why she insisted on helping her with her birthday party and protected her from Derek's pack. Allison had trouble with Scott because of her family and a lot of issues, and Lydia had trouble with Jackson... Well, we know why. After all the Kanima thing, Jackson and Lydia make peace, they confess that they were in love with the other. But Jackson goes to London and Lydia is left alone, with Allison, who also broke up with Scott. They're both single. So Lydia and Allison were pretty close during the summer break, after Allison decided to go to France. They were falling for each other. So they try dating. They keep it a secret, tho no one asks. But when she comes back and sees Scott again... Lydia knows that trouble will come. Allison loves Lydia, but also loves Scott. He was her first love and we all know how special your first love is. Allison can't help but fall for Scott again, no matter how much she wants to be with Lydia. And Lydia gets it. So she ends their relationship, she clarify that she is 100% sure she wants to be with Allison, but Allison is confused and not so determinate. So they break up. Lydia hopes that Allison comes back to her. But she doesn't. And Lydia feels devastated. She didn't feel with Jackson the way she feels about Allison. She is her first love. She dated a lot of guys, but it's not the same. So she tries to have comfort the only way she knows, fooling around with other people. That's what Aiden is. And that's what Cora becomes. Lydia feel the attraction the moment she laid eyes on Derek's sister. She wasn't Allison, but was better in bed. But Cora wasn't looking for a relationship, and Lydia didn't at first, but she thought that the Hale would be the perfect girl so she could move on from Allison. Because Alli is now in a romantic triangle with Scott and Isaac, so Lydia NEEDS to move on. Allison won't come back to her. But Cora doesn't want to help her to move on. She insists that the relationship they have is just sex, nothing else. And makes it clear when after the Alpha pack, she leaves Beacon Hills. Lydia tries not to feel devastated. Then a new student appears. Her name is Kira and looks like a nice girl. Lydia thinks that she will be the perfect choice, the girl that finally helps her to move on from Allison once in for all. They start dating, regular stuff. But it doesn't last long. Kira is a nice, smart and adorable, but she feels something for someone else. And Lydia appreciates that she's being honest and not giving her hope about them. Lydia understands and breaks up with Kira. Of course, Kira's new crush is Scott. Lydia feels betrayed again. One of her best friends keeps stealing the girls she crushes on. First Allison, them Kira. But can't really blame Scott, he has his charm. But it's Allison's death that breaks her. Into little pieces. No matter how badly Lydia wants to deny it, Allison was always in her heart. Cora, Aiden, Kira... They were good to fool around, to try to move on, but would never be Allison. She hadn't been with them long enough for her to fall for any of them. Allison was. She breaks, not only because she was the reason Allison died, but also because she couldn't say goodbye to her. To confess that she always loved her. Lydia is broken and she knows it. She thinks that there's no person out there that can love her with how broken she is. But then Malia comes into the picture. And Lydia doesn't feel so hopeless. Because Malia is broken too. She killed her family and was a coyote almost ten years. She's rude and forgot how to work as a human. But Lydia can help her with that, just like Malia could help her with her broken heart and guilt about Allison. But this time it's Stiles who steals the girl, not Scott. Just when she thought there was no hope for her to fall in love with someone, Malia and Stiles break up. And Malia goes to her for advice and a pair of ears to listen to her. Lydia has to admit that Stiles helped Malia a lot. She was still a rebel, it was her way to deal with the guilt and her human form, but was way better. Not acting only with survival instinct. But that means that Lydia will not have to fix her because Stiles already did that. So she is broken and can't put that weight on Malia's shoulders. Malia deserves better, not a girl with a broken soul. Lydia forgets that Malia is a werecoyote. Meaning she can smell her emotions and attraction. And Malia is also attracted to Lydia, was for a long time. But she doesn't know how to act romantically or what to say so Lydia can understand that she wants her. So One afternoon, Malia just takes her face and kisses her. And Lydia gets the memo. They start dating. And Malia can see how broken Lydia is because of her first love death. She cares about Lydia and starts paying attention so she can help her. She even drives Lydia to Allison's grave sometimes so Lydia can talk about how amazing and wonderful she was. And Malia listens. That's what Lydia needs, to let it all out and someone to be by her side, telling that non of that was her fault. Malia falls for Lydia, and Lydia falls for Malia, almost as hard as she fell for Allison. It takes time, but Lydia gets better. Stiles helped Malia get better, to become a better person, and Malia did the same for Lydia. And Lydia makes peace with her past. With her first love and how badly that ended, with her one night stands, with Cora leaving, with Kira falling for someone else. She's at peace because all of that lead her to Malia. Someone that loved her no matter how broken she was. Someone who fixed her.
