I finished the climate map of Khoros for now (I decided to skip the air and ocean currents map because that might require photoshop and as far as I know you can’t do layers in MS Paint) and here it is:
Dark blue is tropical rainforest, light blue is savannah, medium blue is monsoon climates, red is hot desert, orange is hot steppe, yellow is for Mediterranean climates, pale green is humid subtropical, medium green is maritime, dark green is temparate rainforest, light turquoise is hunid continental, dark turquoise is subarctic continental (taiga), pink is cold desert, pale orange is cold steppe, and grey is arctic tundra. The black regions are high-altitude areas
So there is actually a substantial amount of deserts here, plus rainforests, savannahs, and steppes. The climate is more varied than just “rainforests and deserts” but that’s to be expected - Earth’s land biomes are mostly forests with grasslands in second place, but we still have a bunch of other climate types.
This isn’t the finished product, though. Khoros is probably hotter than Earth, so I’ll modify this when Artifexian makes a video about worlduilding climates on planets that aren’t like modern day Earth
Which reminds me, here are two videos I used to help me figure this map out that you may find useful if you plan to do worldbuilding of your own:
Once we get a part 3 and I can finish off the Khoros map, I’ll move on to Vulcan which has the advantage that there is a canon map for it and I just have to copy that
Gacha Closet Collection #1: Kim Variety Set
“What should ah’ wear today?” Kim asked. “Grey n’ black ‘n orange?”
Sybil groaned. “Ain’t those the only options? Jus’ get dressed! We got crimes n’ shit to commit.”
“Aye, aye!”
A quick collection of scraps and outfit tests for my super-lame OC, Kimberly Williams. Originally made in City of Heroes (so old...) and ported to The Secret World, she’s living life somewhere in between those two settings now. She dresses in three modes for different occasions, depending on the secret society activities she’s all about participating in.
Out-And-About Casuals: Glasses, White Button-Up, Orange Jeans, Grey Vest. Messy prepwear, for the flake on-the-go.
At Work Outfits: Monochrome goon outfits. Campus Uniform, Secret Society Bodyguard / Concierge, and Business Casual.
Faceless Hench Uniforms: For combat, saluting, and generally living the uniform #goonlyfestyle. Blank Uniform, KSG Proxy Uniform, and Test Subject Floatsuit.
I’ve got a lot of characters (friends, enemies, and frenemies) and I hope to share their adventures with all of you. Now, back to work.
I’ve completed the land elevation and ocean depth on the Khoros map!
Tomorrow, I’ll make a separate file for the air and water currents, and I’ll use that for a third file that will show the climate zones
Spaceships of the Ten Worlds’ Alliance
Part Two!
Khoros is represented in the Ten Worlds’ Alliance by Clan Red Wind, the largest unified state on Khoros and one of the few with both a fixed capital and a largely nomadic population – which is their main advantage over other Khorosian countries. Technologically speaking, Clan Red Wind, like much of Khoros, is a patchwork of technology salvaged from before the Thousand Cities’ War and repaired with spare parts, reverse-engineered devices from other planets, and crude machines built during the planet’s post-war Dark Ages. Their ships, known as starcraft, reflect this, as many have a patchwork appearance, and are often welded together. Starcraft come in two main varieties: cloudcraft and warspheres
Warspheres are, as the name suggest, spherical. They are designed to remain in space and transport large armies from planet to planet, propelling themselves by expelling steam from vents in the surface of the sphere. More advanced warspheres have a ring surrounding them with warp nacelles mounted in the ring, as a way to compensate for the flattening of the warp bubble by increasing the nacelles’ total area of effect. These more advanced warp spheres also have a nuclear fission reactor for each nacelle. Computer technology was never developed on Khoros, so aside from some exceptions, warspheres tend to be operated manually. Their main form of combat is unleashing a massive kinetic bombardment in the general direction of the enemy, operating under the principle that with enough spread and enough projectiles, you’re bound to hit something. Not only does this work, it makes Tetramand war parties incredibly effective at wiping out enemy armies and laying siege to planets
As for cloudcraft, they are designed for combat both in space and in the atmosphere of a planet: they have a thick hull designed to withstand extremely high temperatures and pressures, an aerodynamic shape, independently moveable thrusters mounted on the wings, and retractable propellers on their wings, tail, nose, and roof. Unlike the steam or nuclear-powered warspheres, cloudcraft are largely powered by combustion engines of one form or another – sometimes diesel, sometimes petroleum, and sometimes hydrogen. Cloudcraft can fight by dropping a projectile or explosive on enemies on a planet’s surface, firing their guns at enemies in the air or in space, or simply ramming into their opponent (the last one is commonly used in space combat, as firing the guns would cause the Tetramand’s own ship to accelerate backwards, and would require engaging the thrusters to compensate)
Despite certain stereotypes, the most common contact between Tetramands and other species is actually through Tetramand merchant ships. However, these ships are often as heavily armoured as the Tetramand war parties, partly due to the recent Era of Piracy in their own star system, and partly as insurance in case somebody tries to extort or intimidate them. Tetramand pirates largely remain near Tetramand worlds, unless they join pirate crews elsewhere, and Tetramand war parties remain near whichever planet, moon, or outpost they’ve been assigned to, until called on by their clan leader to go to war

Made some progress on the map of Khoros:
I made the central continent bigger, which meant I had to redraw the latitude and longitude lines so the longitude lines are a bit wonky but overall I’m happy with how it looks. I’ve started to add elevation to the map as well - I knew I wanted a massive mountain range in the central continent because that would create a large rain shadow and make sure there was a desert in there and also divide a dry tropical region and a wet tropical region. Plus, I have a headcanon that Tetramand civilisation started in the mountains
I’ve started working on a map of Khoros. So far I’ve got the shape of the landmasses. I’m going to do ocean depth and elevation next, and after that air and ocean currents, and then climate
