As part of the settlement, the NYPD agreed to stop using a tactic called kettling to trap and arrest protesters. Other key elements to the settlement include the creation of a new oversight committee to assess how police respond to protests.
I mean, they are massive liars and are not going to stop kettling, BUT I look forward to the subsequent lawsuits they face by going back on their settlement and hope this makes other cities nervous.

Looks like people are being kettled now in Bristol and they’ve got the horses in.
Reports suggest that a fair amount of violence was being used to achieve this, and there was also violence against press, so we may not see any images of it.
Looks like they have got the crowd up the road a bit from the police station now too.
You can just about see some of the fires that have been set in the background, too.
Don’t forget the police cannot force you to give details in order to leave a kettle.
The police used Kettling tactics at the BLM march in London on Wednesday. This is probably what led to the increased tensions between police and protesters at the end of the day.
Do consider preparing for being kettled by bringing additional water/snacks etc!
