study moods for my favourite aesthetics
(what we're not going to do is mention that it's been nearly a year since my last study mood haha hello)
dark academia : trying to tea stain your notes and failing miserably, the ink from a fountain pen leaking onto the desk, the perfectly justified excitement you feel at opening an old book, burning your favourite candle all the way and crying because it was expensive, being confused as to how you get ink stains everywhere, the permanent crease between your brows, forgetting about your tea and grimacing when you drink it cold an hour later, dressing up pretentiously to go to the library because it's not a phase mom
cottagecore : playing bakery ambience YouTube videos in the background for the aesthetic, wishing you could be in a studio ghibil movie instead of lockdown, pressing flowers between book pages, getting easily distracted from your work because of the sun, buying five planners at the beginning of the year and never using them, trying to convince yourself that if you study outside the wind won't blow your pages around this time, listening to Disney songs whilst studying
minimalist : wanting coffee on an iv drip, misplacing that one specific pen that flows just right, the tapping of shoes against the floor in the library, resenting your teachers for sending so many emails until you have more emails than texts, nibbling on a snack and then forgetting about it for the rest of the day, the smooth line a highlighter makes, trying to drink only water then giving up, closing all of the browsers open on a computer after finishing an essay, the excitement at buying new stationery
art hoe : fiddling with your pen when you can't concentrate, the slight smudge of writing on a page, deciding studying on your bed is a good idea, rustling papers as you search for that one specific thing, three cups on the go in varying stages of being finished, staying up late because you forgot one thing due tomorrow because you were finishing stuff due weeks ahead of schedule, putting your pen behind your ear for the aesthetic, eraser shavings littering your desk, sunlight obscuring your view when reading
girly : taking multiple photos of your study notes and not posting a single one, highlighting everything on the page because it's all important, trying to study in silence, giving up and listening to your playlist instead, secretly smelling sharpies, spending more time organising and planning than studying, the clacking of a keyboard, eating all of your study snacks before you get started, writing notes in the margins of textbooks but never fiction books, studying in groups and failing massively
