This is a current WORK IN PROGRESS. Originally, I planned an started a series of only three paintings beginning with a portrait of my granddaughter. Well, I finished that one over a year ago; and, this one, in the state of that first photo of it, stayed on an easel all this time. The third one remains there with only the background painted and a sketch clipped to it. I'm really hoping to finish this one by the end of the weekend. Work in Progress: Wildflowers, 8"x10", acrylic I've been working on this little piece for a while and I almost always try to document the "stages" of a piece. The truth is, I mainly do this to "fix" something if I make a change that doesn't work out. This little piece still isn't finished ~ I have to add back in the barbed wire and work on the yellow flowers. I may brighten the sky. This is the Day ~ Painted Desert I did a series of pieces in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop and Corel a few years back. I call the series Fantasy Camping. I've been "slammed" for my digital art; but, each piece took dozens of hours and was composed from original photographs and hand drawings. It was, I know now, an important phase in art for me. I've always intended to paint these on canvas, but it seems I never get to it.
