Katherine crosses her arms against her chest. She stares down at him patiently. He clears his throat and places his bag of pork rinds in his lap.
Wiping his hands against his jeans, Kai clears his throat again.
"You need to take this seriously, Kai," she snaps. Kai watches her as she glares down at him. That’s a scary look. She’s super scary. Scarier than Elena with her big doe-eyes. It’s kind of funny how they could look so alike and yet be so different.
"I am," he says a moment too late.
Katherine rolls her eyes. "I should just do this myself," she mutters.
"Hey, hey," he leans forward on his chair, causing it to squeak. "None of that. No. We are a team. We are the dream team. We’re like Starsky and Hutch, but I’m the good looking one and you’re Daisy."
