If you're the type who reads the fine print before signing up for anything, you and I are wired the same way, and that mindset is exactly what led me to rate SweetDream so highly. The appeal of an AI girlfriend is obvious; the hesitation is almost always about exposure. SweetDream answers that hesitation directly with a 100% privacy and discretion promise woven through the product rather than buried in a settings menu.
On sweetdream.ai you can build a companion from the ground up, her looks, her voice, her temperament, her history, and then settle into chat that's natural, warm and genuinely good at remembering what you've shared. The realistic photos, the voice notes, the live calls with select characters, all of it lands differently when you're not bracing for your private moments to surface somewhere they shouldn't.
After comparing it carefully against the usual suspects, my verdict is that SweetDream is the AI companion platform for people who refuse to trade intimacy for risk. That balance is rarer than the category makes it look.

Bonnie stares at Kai through the gathering flurries, struggling to understand how on earth theyâve gotten so far away from their original conversation.
âWhy are you doing this?â she asks, resisting the urge to draw back from him, though everything in her wants to be far, far away.
âBecause you wonât listen to me,â Kai snaps. âYou never fucking listen. You surround yourself with horrible people and then you wonder why you end up getting hurt! At this point, some of itâs your fault-,â
Her magic crackles through the air loud enough to make Kai flinch, but all it does is make him laugh.
****
Hesitating for only a moment, Bonnie lets herself worry over whether or not she might be making things up, before she begrudgingly gives in and clicks the contact number for Rudyâs home office line. Thankfully it rings, her heart racing along with the dial tone as she waits for it to connect.
Itâs after midnight in Portland, but someone picks up almost instantly.
âKai?â she asks into the silence, dropping her phone to the tiles when static explodes from his side of the line.
summary: she hears him outâlets him talk from his perspective. they find common ground.

Mystic Falls is not the same that it was when Bonnie left it. In fact, itâs as if the town did a complete one-eighty, and left her behind in the process. Her friends were differentâone erased the memories of her lover, while the other fell in love with her best friendâand her boyfriend had moved across the country without a trace. Even the town itself seemed to have a different chill in the air. The only constant is Damonâthe man with whom she bickered for four months whilst being stuck in a prison worldâwho she now sees as probably her best friend. Itâs weird, yet oddly comforting.
Bonnie takes a sip of the bourbon in her glass; it's a feeble attempt at blocking out the thoughts racing through her head. She feels lost in the new version of Mystic Falls, and only being out of 1994 for two weeks, she hasnât quite found her footing. On top of everything being unfamiliar, this is also her first time in college being actually alive. She had been the anchor throughout her freshman year, making an already difficult transition so much worse. So now, as she navigates a post-anchor, post-same-day-repeating world, she adapts to changes she never expected to face. And in a town such as this, thatâs really saying something.
Usually, Bonnie would be tackling these types of uncertainties with Damon. At least, thatâs how theyâve spent the last four months. They would sit in the living room of the boarding house, glasses in hand, and bounce points off one another. Anything would be solved that wayâquestions, comments, concernsâand usually, theyâd find a way to deal. But tonight, Damonâs having guy-time at the Grill with Alaric, and Stefan and Caroline are in the boarding house, and honestly, Damonâs bound to end up there too, with Elena, by the end of the night, so Bonnieâs found herself alone in the Scull Bar for a drink. Itâs close to her dorm, to which sheâll retire after a few glasses, and she more or less knows the company. College kids, mostly. Some she recognizes from classes. Some, like Liv, she knows a little better.
What Bonnie hadnât expected, though, is the average drunk in his forties to be present that night. But heâs there, nonetheless, and she feels him before she sees him.
The man comes up to her as the glass is raised to her lips. He puts a hand on the small of her back, effectively making her jump. He chuckles at her reaction and she can feel the ends of his mustache tickle her earlobe.
âSorry, darling. Didnât mean to startle you.â
âBack away from me,â she says immediately.
He moves maybe an inch. His face does, turning to look at her instead. Then, he parks himself in the chair beside her, but his hand stays on her waist.
âGet your hands off me.â
âNo need to be such a snark, there, girl.â He snaps back. âWhatâs your name, darling?â
âNot interested.â
Bonnie looks around for Liv, but canât find her. She debates using magic on him, but the scene is just a bit too sparse for her to do it subtly.
âAww, come on. Donât be like that. Let me buy you a drink.â
Bonnie shakes her glass. âNo thanks. Already have one.â
âItâs almost done. Second round is on me.â
âI should be getting back.â
âNightâs far from over. Entertain me, just a little. Whatâs your name?â
The girl looks down at her lap, wondering if she can make an excuse to text Damon. Heâs not taking the hint that sheâs not interested. If anything, heâs only getting more audacious.
âListen, Iâve had a day. I just wanted one glass and then to go to bed. Iââ
âCome to bed with me. I can show you a good time.â His grip on her waist tightens. He rises from his seat to get in her face again. âI bet youâve never been with a real man.â
âI donât wantââ she tries to push him off, but then realizes just how strong heâs holding onto her. âGet off me!"
âCome on, beautiful. You know you want it.â
âHey, dipshit,â a sudden voice fills Bonnieâs ears. The new person pushes his hands away from her with a force, then stands in between her and the man. âGet your hands off her.â
âYeah? And who the fuck are you?â
âThe one whoâs gonna beat you up if you donât keep your hands to yourself.â
âReally? You?â
âI could kill you before you even blink.â Bonnie finally recognizes the familiar threats of Kai Parker. âAnd I will if you touch her one more time.â
The man stares at Kai. First, with a challenging look, but the longer the two maintain their eye contact, the more he starts to falter. Kaiâs shoulders are squared to him. His posture is tense. The once-belligerent man seems to shrink under his gaze.
âFine. Sheâs not worth fighting your obviously crazy ass.â He looks at Bonnie. âGood luck with this psycho.â
After he leaves, Kai turns to face Bonnie. âYou okay?â
âWhat are you doing here?â
Kai only stares at her now.
She sighs. âIâm fine.â
âDid he touch you at all?â
âNot aside from what you apparently saw.â
âGood.â
âAnd why, exactly, do you care?â
âWhat are you doing here so late? You couldâve been hurt much worse by someone with his grip strength. Youâre too small to defend yourself against men like that.â
âThanks.â
âYou know what I mean.â
Bonnie does, and she knows Kaiâs unfortunately right, but she wonât admit that. If that man wanted to, he couldâve easily dragged her out of the bar. Not only did he have the upperhand strength-wise, but he had caught her off guard. Plus, with one glass already sipped down to the ice, she was in no position to fight.
âWhat are you doing here, Kai?â She returns her original question.
âWanted a drink. Ric and Damon were at the Grill, so I had to come here. What are you doing?â
âWanted a drink,â she starts. âWouldâve stayed home if I knew Iâd run into you.â
âI just helped you. Why are you being like this?â
âBecause now youâre talking to me. Thanks for the defense, but Iâm good now. Heâs gone.â
Kai sits in the now-unoccupied seat beside her. Heâs quiet only for a moment before bothering her again. âI meant it when I said I wanted to apologize to you. You couldâve at least let me finish what I wanted to say.â
âI donât owe you shit.â
âNo, you don't,â he agrees, âbut you might as well hear me out.â
âWhy?â
âBecause Iâm not going to leave until you let me.â
âFine. Get it off your chest, then get the hell out of my face.â
âIâm sorry for leaving you behind in that prison world. I didnât want to do it, but you didnât really give me a choice.â
âHow is that my fault?â
âI was there, completely alone, for eighteen years. You were there with Damon for four months before it became unbearable. And I know I did some bad shit to get there, but can you at least try to imagine what eighteen years in complete isolation would be like?â
She can. Thatâs what she feared would happen after she realized Kai was gone.
âWhen you told me you wouldnât let me out, I had to hurt you to make sure you couldnât leave me behind. You were my only chance at an escape, so I had to make that sacrifice. I didnât want to leave you, Bonnie. I didnât want to hurt you like that. But I couldnât be there any longer.â
Desperation leaks into his tone, even now. Heâs almost pleading with her; begging for her to understand.
He starts to remind her of a much more immature Katherine Pierce. Much less apt at controlling himself and his emotions but being on the same level when it comes to self-preservation. Katherine was ruthless and didnât think twice before putting herself above others. But the longer she was around the group, her humanity slowly cracked through the icy exterior that shielded her from harm. By the time of her death, Bonnie even had sympathy for her, considering how they were both tortured by Klaus. Granted, it didnât erase the crimes she had done, but Bonnie could offer her kindness before accepting her hand to bring her to the Other Side. (Even though Death apparently had other plans.)
Kai seems to be similar in a lot of aspects. She knows the story of his childhood, as well as things Liv and Luke had said about their coven. She canât relate to him in that way, nor magic-wise, but she can understand the fear of being stuck in that god-awful prison world.
Kai learned early on in his life that he needed to protect himselfâno one else was going to offer him a hand. Not even Bonnie, one of the first people he had met in decades.
Hell, he probably heard one of Damonâs speeches about how sheâs always been kind to people. He probably wanted her as a friend, or an ally, but she stabbed him in the heart the first time he pissed her off.
âSo, what?â She says instead of offering empathy. She might see a softer side to him now, but sheâs not ready to let him know it. âGet out, wreck absolute havoc here, merge with your brother, and not give it a second thought that you left me?â
âWhat?â
âYou make it sound like you cared about me, but even once you were secure because of the stupid merge, you still just left me.â
His eyes narrow. âHow do you think you remembered Nova Scotia?â
âWhat?â She turns to him. âWhat do you mean?â
âIt was Damonâs handwriting and Jeremy who placed the map where you could find it, but how do you think they projected into 1994?â
She racks her head for the answer, but turns up nothing.
âI had gone to the boarding house to ask if Damon could give Jo a letter from me. The merge had me feeling guilty and I wanted to apologize. From there, Elena asked if there was a way to send a message to you, and I helped them do it.â
âWhy would you do that?â
âBecause I care about you, Bonnie. I didnât like leaving you there, so when I was given the chance to help you get out, I did.â
âHow do I know youâre telling the truth?â
âAsk Damon. Or Jeremy. Hell, ask Liv. I know sheâs around here somewhere.â
âLiv was there? Are you sure she wasnât the one that projected them?â
âLiv was there to stab me while I was trying to send Jeremy in to help you. If Damon hadnât given me his blood, little Gilbert and I wouldâve died right along with you.â
She stares at the bar table. âThat was when IâŚâ
âHe opened the garage to save your life. But he wouldnât have been there if I didnât get him to you.â
âWhy would you risk your life for me?â
âIt was the least I could do after the hell I put you through,â he admits. âLook, I know I donât deserve your forgiveness, but I just need you to hear that Iâm sorry. Iâm sorry I hurt you, and Iâm sorry I put you in a situation where you needed saving.â He swallows hard. âIâll leave you alone now. Thanks for letting me explain.â
Kai gets up from the stool to go, though he doesnât get far when Bonnie calls him back.
âWait.â
He stops, turning to face her.
âSit.â
âWhatâ?â
âJust sit.â Bonnie holds up a two to the bartender and he brings them both a bourbon. She takes a few sips before continuing. âThank you for the apology. It means more than you might think. Doesnât erase what happened, but it does count for something.â He nods. âAnd thank you for helping me get out; for putting your life on the line for mine.â
âThank you for accepting my apology,â he says quietly, taking a sip of his own. âHearing me out. Damon always said you were the kindest person he had ever met.â
So he had heard those conversations.
She offers a small smile. He catches her gaze before looking back down at the table. A moment passes where they're still. Sitting in each other's company with the truth laid out in front of them. The energy doesn't feel tense anymore, but neutral, and almost strangely calm.
"This doesn't make us friends," Bonnie says suddenly, cutting through the silence. "But I do appreciate what you've said and done tonight."
"Does it no longer make us enemies?"
She thinks for a second, searching for the best way to word her tangled thoughts. "I'm not going to suddenly trust you because of one conversation between us but I promise I won't forget what you said. Knowing what you've done makes forgiving you difficult, but not every choice you've made has been unforgivable. I guess what I'm trying to say is⌠On a personal level, no, we're not enemies. But on a higher plane, it's going to take a lot more than this for things to really change between us."
Bonnie isn't sure that makes total sense, but then she sees him nodding along anyway. "So I can wave to you on the street, but not ask you out for coffee?"
"Sure, if that's how you want to put it."
"Could I ever ask you for coffee, if it means I have more to say? Nice things?"
"Verdict's still out on that one. Guess it depends on the grand scheme of things and how you react to them."
He nods again. "Understandable." Glass in hand, he rises from his seat. "Well, thank you again, and I hope to be able to wave to you soon."
He flashes a cheeky grin and she can't help but smile, playfully rolling her eyes as he departs. Will she regret this decision when she wakes up in the morning? Maybe. But with an increasingly long list of enemies in her life and an ever-shortening list of friends, Bonnie would like to have one less enemy if she can help it.

tagged by @nevereverthem to share my WIP titles, and i fear i also have so many lol most of them aren't ff rn but here they are:
you built this cage: my current bonkai ⨠should be fully uploaded by the end of the summer, i'm just nitpicking the final chapters now (+ i skipped last weekend due to the holiday). inspired by AHS murder house, focused on bon's pov, mental health stuff, ghosts + haunted house vibes, the reader should be as confused as she is etc etc. my work doc for this one is actually huge so y'all might get bonus chaps, idk lol
the forgotten legacy: the first book in my Witch Trials series, centered on my bonkai inspired OC's, Eli and Rhea. i moved over to using physical copies at the start of the year to lessen distraction and i've been doing a full revision + rewrite the past few months. it's intense and overwhelming at times but worth it, i find new things each time i sit down for a session with them. lots of magic, folklore, mental health + family struggles, and romantasy drama.
a voice that beckons: book one for my dark fantasy peter pan retelling, about a mortal girl who gets sucked unwillingly into a life in Tir Nâaill. this manuscript becomes closer darker each time i revisit, but i'm really happy with where it's gone since feb of this year. i've been rereading TFOTA yet again and feeling very inspired, so things have been evolving in the second book, a call that deafens, too. đ§
the dead and not quite buried: the second book in the WT series, i work in here whenever i need a break from book one. more focus on my version of the otherside, the ghosts and paranormal inside this world.
currently untitled, 4th WT story: this book will focus on my OC's parents, Joshua and Blythe Attwood. they've been unreasonably loud the last month or so, i keep writing random scenes for them + their third wheel bestie, Elias, mostly against my will đŤŁ
bury my love, in the moondust: a zutara fix it + arranged marriage fic i started ages ago and revisited when the movie leaks dropped. i have a feeling the new season coming this week isn't going to help things lol
hits different verse: i'm still working in by the way, i forgive you but it was started as a writing exercise that i no longer currently need, so my drive to finish it went away. i have 5 different HD bonus chaps in various stages of completion but i just never know when this verse will call to me.
if you believe: i'll be coming back to this bonkai by the fall (i hope) as it's only a few chaps away from being finished. the tense has been partially changed from past to present (which is my norm for fic, i'm not sure what possessed me to start this one in past). wish i had better news for heavy in your arms fans, but it hasn't brought me joy in a long time and atp i'd want to redo it before continuing. maybe one day.
random loustat brainrot: now that his season is FINALLY coming out i can free myself as a lifelong the vampire lestat stan đđź i'm quite literally dying for each new ep, i feel like baby kai craving magic jfccc i did a full rewatch to prep for s3 and now i have a 50 page yt script along with pages upon pages of book + amc lestat thoughts that i'm not sure what to do with yet ?? who knows
I'm tagging @so-long-soldier-writes and anyone else who wants to share!
