Zamasu was a normal Kaioshin whose perceptions of morality and justice became warped as he saw the evil of Mortals, similar to what began happening to Kami before he purged the evil from his heart and it became Piccolo. Seeing the way they lied, cheated, betrayed each other, killed and manipulated each other over the smallest things affected him to the point he believed they simply shouldn't be allowed to exist and everything needed to start over.

     “Hey there Supreme Kai!” Whenever Goku dropped by the Kai planet for an unexpected visit, you knew something had either gone horribly wrong... or he wanted something troublesome. “You gotta minute?”
