Have just finished "Fade to Bkack" by Tim McBain and L.T. Vargus. I'll go ahead and say that this one definitely kept my attention until I finally completed it! First off, the story is fascinating. You have a 27 year-old slacker who mysteriously begins having seizures, and during those seizures, he has these dreams, or visions even, that keep recurring. Everytime he tries something different to figure out what the purpose is, and usually fails miserably. He meets a few new friends and tries to keep his "I hate the world, so just leave me alone attitude", but said new friends just won't let him. The mystery deepens as the story unfolds, containing some cults, tarot, and missing people. Very interesting! Even leaves you with a cliff hanger! The characters were very well developed and stayed consistent through out the entire story. No problems there. The humor this books contains is off the chart for me... now granted there is quite a bit of foul language and as I've said before, this doesn't bother me a bit. Maybe not your cup of tea if it does. But, funny just doesn't do it justice. This book literally had me laughing out loud from the first chapter. Jeff's attitude and witty sarcasticness is my kind of humor. The only problem I even had just a tiny bit with this book, was some of the word flow. It wasn't bad by any means, but every now and then I found a section or two that just sounded... weird. But it still does nothing to take away from this very interesting book! All in all, I'll give "Fade to Black" by Tim McBain and L.T. Vargus a.... (where's my drum roll people!?!) 4.0 out of 5.0!!! Foul language not you thing? Then maybe not for you. Don't care? Then definitely give this one a go! Great job by Tim McBain and L.T. Vargus! Looking forward to the next one!
