Although, I will say: The choice to have Nicky chop off his own hand actually helps make Armand more empathetic.
Outstanding acting by these two. I think it was more powerful for them to work separately, then their reactions to one another were more authentic.
I don't know if you remember, but a few months ago I criticized the casting of Joseph Potter as Nicki. OMG, how wrong I was. Not only is Joseph a beautiful man (my complaint was mainly that I thought his looks paled in comparison to Sam's) but he's also a phenomenal actor. I am so deeply impressed by him – his beauty, his talent, and the way he captured Nicolas's tragedy. I still think Lestat and Nicki don't quite fit together visually due to the age and height differences, but that's a separate issue.
Joseph is an incredibly attractive and talented human being.
I DO remember. And I love that you closed the loop on this. I think Lestat and Nicky’s height and age are not an issue… did you see how bashful a 30 yo Lestat was when Nicky came into him

This isn't surprising because Sam rarely ever talked about Nickistat until very recently.
Fortunately, Joseph really was able to match Sam's intensity because their scenes were excellent.

I don't know if Joe had to prepare alone because Sam was busy doing other stuff since he had way more to shoot. I am not comparing the closeness of actors because you click if you click but this is kinda funny. Just Jam things. They are in their own world.
😆😆 They can’t help it. They are brothers/family, it never occurred to them.
