Eric may have implied they were like his sons before but not Jacob. Not publications. The media people usually clocked how Jam kept looking at each other at events and even commented on it before but now some article is calling them twins. Maybe "Shining twins" is just them saying how in sync they are? There is that. Can't deny that there are many changes now but maybe we should ponder less.

He has also compared them to puppies, and has said things along the lines of he had no idea what bizarro world he'd entered when he first encountered them together, and didn't want to define what they had going on (did I hallucinate that last one?? Pls tell me I didn't 😭).

Anyway, it seems to me that AMC, Narrative and whomever else has zeroed in on that line as a short hand for whatever tf they're trying to convey at this time. It's the sudden repetition of the phrase (and its variants) by outlets and people WHO ARE NOT EBOGO that is making this seem so transparent and weird when perceived by more longstanding fans.

I wonder if other people have been asked to cool it on the Jam front too. Eric has talked about how close they were before but he has never talked about them as siblings. Now Jacob also said they were like siblings. I hope Sam doesn't say they are siblings. It is so weird when you are playing romantic partners. Just say you are close or best friends like they used to do or like other celebrities do. This plus the cosmo article about the partner all screams some intense clean up. Too bad it came to this. I guess people should have cooled it on the speculation about the partner the past few months or kept it out of public platforms. Should have kept it in discord or something idk. It's so easy to guilt trip Sam or anyone involved into thinking they are misogynists for not standing up for their partner when all the speculations were almost always fueled by the partner hinting at stuff and meddling in fan business. But who cares about all of that huh, most of their actions were through stories and people don't really pick up on that. At least someone got what they wanted.

I liked that I found myself smiling and laughing at certain moments, especially when Eric and Dee raised their hands at the OD question. I'm particularly loving Eric this season. Sam is absolutely phenomenal—if he doesn't win awards this year, I'll be picketing outside the Academy.

The only slightly disappointing note, though not a particularly significant one, is Gabriella. Jennifer is incredibly talented and beautiful, but I'm not entirely convinced by the choice of accent. To the ear of a native Italian speaker, it sounds more like an Eastern European accent. Maybe they should have researched it a bit more, or perhaps gone with a more neutral accent if they didn't want to emphasize her Neapolitan origins.

A neutral accent would actually have made sense, considering she's an educated woman who marries into a fallen noble family in France. An overly strong regional accent would have felt somewhat out of place. That said, we'll hear her speak more in the upcoming episodes, so I'm sure I'll have a better idea of how I feel about it then.

Jacob and Assad look amazing too—kudos to the styling and makeup teams! They've already become memes on X among Italian fans, and I was absolutely crying with laughter at the very Italian cultural references people have assigned to them. The jokes about Jacob's foot and Assad's eye patch, with people saying they're ready to apply for disability benefits from the Italian social security system, absolutely sent me 😂
