#joy spell

Yesterday I did this little jar spell for my friend's birthday, and I tought I'd share it.

Ingredients:

Salt (purification)

Lavender (peace, happiness, healing, protection and tranquility)

Camomile ( to relieve stress, peace, harmony, happiness,love and prosperity)

Black pepper (courage and protection)

Calendula ( happiness, prosperity and harmony)

A small piece of paper on which I drew Algiz, the rune of protection

A jar to contain the ingredients

Candle wax ( I used a yellow candle as in color corrispondences it's linked to happiness and success)

I cleansed the jar with the smoke of a incense stick ( I used frankincense). After that I layered all the ingredients inside the jar. As mine is a present I wanted the rune to be visible so after drawing it on paper I placed it in the jar an made sure not to cover it completely with the ingredients. After everything was done I closed of the jar with its cap and dribbled the candle wax over it to seal it. Unfortunately for how my jar is made the lines created by the wax are not continuous but it doesn't matter too much. Of course during the whole process I kept my intent in mind. I also did this list to give to my friend so that she knows what I used in it and for what reason I did it.

Of course this larticular shaker jar was costumed for the personalized for the person it's meant to go to, which means that if you do it yourself you should see what ingredients and corrispondences resonate with you the most.

Spells performed long distance are no different than other spells, at least in theory! The biggest thing you'll need is an energy tie, which can be found simply through the person's permission to perform the spell for them (which you should always have.)

If you need something to strengthen the bond, having the person's big three or a photo of them to focus on also helps. You may also want to ask the person to perform some sort of action themselves, like writing out their intentions and meditating upon them.

I found this candle at Goodwill and it was an unlit one, but covered in gross film. I took it home and wiped it with an old rag and rubbing alcohol. I also wiped off the top layer of wax and respun the wick enough to get it to light. It was lit initially on a Sunday during a waxing moon.

I topped it off with a black and white protection string around its neck, soaked with citrus oils for extra happy vibes. 🍊🍋

I like using other candles nearby and asking them to assist my main. That Bath and Body one chilling in the back has yummy lemon scent and. I just thought it would be nice to add to the mix. It hasn't been used as a spell candle before, but is almost half burnt, so I didn't want to ask it to carry a whole spell.

So, I’ve been reading ‘A Year and a Day of Everyday Witchcraft’ by Deborah Blake, which is pretty much a Pagan devotional, and today’s passage is just lovely. I’ve been so down lately, and this little page made me feel a bit hopeful and less alone. Anyway, I wanted to share it! The book only has the chant. I’ve added a few steps and info to, hopefully, boost the power of the spell! I’ve also added some notes at the end of just little cliff-notes of how I’m doing the spell.

Materials: ✦Your Voice and Intent ✦A Yellow Candle (Optional!)

FULLY Optional Time Constraints: ✦Moon Phase - New ✦Weekday - Thursday ✦Hour - Dusk *Note: I add optional time constraints to all the spells I put in my Grimoire. I usually just pick one or the other. You don’t have to do this at Dusk during a New Moon that falls on a Thursday! You can do it at Dusk, on a New Moon, a Thursday, or any day!

- Green Tea for a conscious mind, magic energy, love

- Fresh Strawberries for passion, sweetness, carefree joy

- Lavender for calm (to avoid the happiness being ‘manic’ as mine often is)

- Basil for prosperity, happiness, peace

- Raw Honey for sweetness, to preserve the longevity of the spell

Mash your strawberries, I used a mortar and pestle, while focusing on your intention. Then combine your ingredients and pour over your boiling water, envisioning pouring your intent into the teapot, and steep, covered, for about 3 minutes. After steeping, pour through a strainer, envisioning straining out any negativity, and enjoy while doing something you love! 

Angelic Joy and Happiness Spell Jar:

- Dried orange peel - Cinnamon stick - White feather - Intent written with orange pen (burnt to charge) - Sealed with yellow wax - Charged with Amber (in sunlight for an extra boost)

I picked out corresponding cards from The Universe Has Your Back Deck to focus my intent on the jar and now I can feel the joy of the angels in my heart and know I have the right to be happy!

Materials: Yellow rose petals (whole), a green pouch, a small quartz crystal, and a small bell 

Preparation: Place the quartz crystal outside in direct sunlight on a calm day. Let it sit there for at least three hours before taking it back inside. 

Performance: Inside of the pouch place the rose petals, the crystal, and the bell. Hold the pouch open and speak into it what joy feels like to you. That can be a setting, a feeling, a memory-anything that you associate with the word “joy.” Once you have done this, close the pouch tightly.
