#green magic

Summer, typically associated with sunshine, rising temperatures, and plenty of outdoor fun and activities, is a season abundant with powerful plant allies for magical workings. With delicious fruits that can aid in love and luck work, vegetables that are rife with symbolism or the perfect tools in sympathetic magic, and an array of flowers for protecting, purifying, and more, this bountiful season is one that shouldn’t be overlooked by practitioners of witchcraft, no matter what path they follow.

In this piece, you’ll find a collection of some of summer’s offerings for plant allies and suggestions on how they may be used.

So I want to know how green magic interacts with body modifications, such as tattoos or piercings or scarification. Even more than that I want to know how green magic interacts with gender affirming care. Like theoretically if green magic returns things to its original state then anyone on HRT or with any kind of body modification would likely want to avoid it.

Or if green magic returns things to its true for form then any trans person would probably want to come running towards it.

I’m just curious, and you always put a lot of world building/thought into things so I wanted to hear the explanation if it exists.

I indirectly allude to that kind of situation in a certain subplot early in Legacy of the Magi: Hal brings Asriel a slice of cake, Asriel shares with the other kids, Frisk has a metal dental filling that reacts to the high sugar content and hurts, and their attempt to mitigate that with healing magic snowballs.

A chapter or so later, a dentist is looking at Frisk's mouth trying to figure out what is going on, and eventually Frisk regenerates that entire tooth, expelling the filling in the process. He also notes that there are two other fillings in Frisk's mouth, but they are not being expelled because their respective teeth are not regenerating. The data all pointed towards the fact that the catalyst for the body to recognize that something was wrong in the first place was the sensation of pain itself. Modifications, alterations, and corrections that don't hurt are not considered injuries, even if they include substances that don't naturally occur in the human body, like the epoxy resin used in modern dental fillings. But of course, if pain is the catalyst, that makes it harder to study for multiple reasons. Needless to say, this is not something that All Fine Labs can easily learn, especially not without an ethics review board.
