Joe x Chuy (late-1950′s ish)

They’re in a dive bar ......somewhere.. Joe doesn’t really remember exactly where they are anymore. The jukebox is playing a jazz song. Joe looks up to see Chuy dancing with a random woman. They’re laughing and moving to the beats like pros. He can barely dance (that’s a lie, he can’t dance AT ALL), but his inability to dance triples whenever a jazz song comes on. The beats always change and he can never guess what will happen next. That’s also why Chuy loves it. It’s fast pace and constantly changing beat excite him.

The song that was playing ends and Chuy and the woman stop dancing and end up at the bar. He sinks further into his seat. He could probably sleep and let Chuy enjoy himself. Just as he thinks that he feels a presence next to him. “Done dancing already?” Joe asks. 

“Nope.” Chuy says with a wide grin. Chuy then holds out one of his hands to Joe. “Joseph will you give me the honour of dancing with you?” 

Joe starts. “But I can’t...... It’s so fast.”

Chuy laughs. “Joseph.....” He reaches both of his hands out. Joe thinks about it for a moment before reaching out as well. Chuy clasps their hands together and pulls Joe into his embrace and they start to spin around together. 

Joe feels terrified and excited. They are moving so fast that everything but Chuy melts away. Joe tries to sway with Chuy and almost throws himself to the ground, but Chuy steadies him. Chuy then spins him out and for a second while away from Chuys’ embrace Joe sees the people looking at him, at them. They are looking at them with sneers and shock. Joe doesn’t move. “Joe!” Chuy says. Chuy then tugs his hand and he spins back into Chuy. 

He ends up elbowing Chuy by accident, but that only makes Chuy laugh. “Just feel the rhythm and move.” Chuy instructs. “You’ve told me that for 7 centuries now Chuy. I still can’t dance.” Joe says. Then he looks Chuy in the eye and laughs. He starts to move of his own volition again. Chuy moves with him. He steps on Chuys’ left foot. Chuy shakes his head with a smile on his lips. Chuy moves him back, he moves Chuy back and they dance for about five minutes before a man at the bar takes offence at their joy and tries to shoot them.

At which point they leave in a hurry.
