What Makes you like jack and boogie as a ship? Just curious
I mean, it's partially because I don't like Jack/Sally and crackship Sally with someone else. That leaves Jack, who I still adore even if I don't think he's a particularly great partner, in need of a suitable mate because I'm shipper filth.
Jack and Oogie just have that bitter exes vibe. They sing a duet while fighting each other in one of the spinoff games, and of course there's this little moment.
They're both extremely passionate for what they do, they both have a flair for the dramatic, and I just kind of like the idea that Oogie's loud, unambiguous, and open in a way that you kind of have to be if you're dating Jack, because he'll wander off with his head in the clouds if you don't.
I like to think they'd be a mercurial couple that the town desperately hopes will someday break up for good, but somehow, they always find their way back to each other.
I still like Jally, Chai, and think they're cute together but I can see where you're coming from about Jack. When he gets into something new, like Christmas, he gets HOOKED. I really do think practically everyone from the Halloween realm has some sort of neurodiversity going on lol
I do think it'd be super cute if Jack would take his feelings about Christmas and make them into his feelings about Sally? But that's just my opinion! And Kingdom Hearts is as about as canon as Long Live the Pumpkin Queen, which is to say, not at all. So at least that's something XD
I love the idea of having Jack and Sally invite Fink and Alice over for dinner or something, and all four of their personalities just clash.
Yeah, how good of a romantic partner Jack is sort of depends on the piece of media; I think Zero's Journey was the only adaptation I've ever seen where they seemed like a mutual, loving couple. Every other work including the original movie, Jack's just too in his own head.
I see Jack as someone that you have to physically demand attention from, and perversely, it's why he and Oogie work in my thing where he and Sally didn't. Speaking of Oogie, he's down for a double date with Sally and Sandman, but no one else is. He probably just thinks it would be funny.

Hear me out, Sally and the judderman, who you may need to look him up because he was from an obscure British commercial back in the day but he is a perfect fit for the NBC world. He has parties in the woods and turns those who drink the drink he offers them into puppets, he's charming and the life of the party like Jack but so much closer to Sally's way of life.
Jack and Oogie are perfect together, their rivalry holds such great chemistry, the two of them together would be a force.
Ooh, that'd be a great one too! Basically Sally just needs a nice, spooky guy out of something inspired by German expressionist cinema to treat her right, show her the world, and make her back arch so hard it comes dangerously close to being permanent.

And agreed on Jack and Oogie! I imagine that when they're at odds, it's a nightmare for everyone, but when they're in sync, they're an unstoppable power couple. There's no Halloween like a Jack and Oogie Halloween.
