Things I’m working on instead:

a Jagnus oneshot where Magnus gets the tips of his hair dyed once a week because he has a huge, giant crush on his hair stylist Jace and is still trying to figure out if Jace is single

a Jonace oneshot where Jonathan and Jace ran away together as kids and Jace helps Jonathan control his urges to kill; angel and demon blood grounding each other

a Nicercy oneshot where Nico is a space bounty hunter and stowaway on a piracte ship where he meets space pirate Percy and they’re both aliens from Pluto and Neptune respectively and it’s gonna be cute as fuck

I swear, every single time I sit down with the determination to write something short, it fucks me over... -_-

I mean, my “Alphas of Percy Jackson” series literally only had three purposes - a) more ABO for the PJatO fandom, b) more omega!Percy and c) challenging myself to writing 2 to 3 pages long shots on all my favorite ships. The list of favorite ships was supposed to be like... 15. Now I’ve pushed the number up to 25. And some of those damn shots are literally 15 pages...

“Percy and the Ghost King of Summers High” was supposed to be like 10 chapters. Just a random short supernatural high school AU. Then I pushed the chapter count up to 15. Then to 20. Then 25. As I have been working on the most recent chapter yesterday - when not being interrupted by random Jimon - I’ve decided to add another 5 chapters because I want more everyone-Sally-bonding and more time for smut and just overall... more.

Like... three episodes of Shadowhunters ago I had this random idea that I want to see a Jonathan/Jace (Jonace? Does it have a ship-name?) story where they run away together from Valentine and everything happens differently and it was, you guessed it, supposed to be short, but now I’m 16 pages in and they barely admitted to themselves to like the other because I got sooo lost in the world-building... which I shouldn’t complain about, I knooow, because world-building is literally the thing that’s most fun about writing, but stiiill...

Then I had this random idea of “Hey, wouldn’t it be totally adorable if Jace got hit by a spell, turned into a puppy and found by Simon who has no idea it’s Jace?”. In theory, that sounded like a cute little - short - thing on Simon cuddling a puppy and confessing to him his deepest, darkest desire - Jace - and that’s like it. Hah. This is turning into a monster oneshot. Well, it found its way onto my updating schedule for the 27th September and it better be done and not grown any more by then! =_=
