It had seemed like a good idea at the time.
Going on a little adventure down in the basement of the academy, that is. It was dark and eerie and best of all, quiet and deserted, he’d never seen anyone come down this way and had yet to see anyone else down there. That was his favorite part about it.
But, now he was afraid that this favorite part was going to be the death of him. Because he’d been passing a coffin, casually propped open in a little nook in the wall like it would be in a funeral, only without a body laying at rest within. An empty coffin had certainly been.... Eerie, and he had done his best to give it a wide berth as he tried to move past it, but apparently he hadn’t gone wide enough.
Because just as he was trying to sidle pass, he was quite literally sucked inside, some unseen force yanking him through the air and right into that old, dark coffin. He didn’t have a chance to even try to keep it from snapping shut, and so it did with a loud bang, trapping him in pitch darkness.
The damn top wouldn’t budge. It hadn’t simply fallen shut, it seemed to have been locked as well, and no amount of shoving or kicking was making it do much more than rattle. Not that he could move all that much anyways, not enough to get a lot of leverage, the top was so low and walls so tight he couldn’t even curl up if he wanted to. That knowledge made a few chilly tendrils of claustrophobic panic claw up his throat, but he shoved them down viciously. Panicking would NOT help. Neither would his phone, he found after a quick glance, which of fucking course had no service buried deep underground. He’d have to work on that.
So he did the next best thing. He started yelling; anything he could think of, but a whole lot of fairly foul language like, “SOMEONE GET ME OUT OF THIS FUCKING COFFIN,” and “I WILL HAUNT ALL YOU COCK SUCKERS IF I DIE IN HERE.” He was Not Happy. He made quite a ruckus with his kicking and squirming as well, pounding on the sides and kicking the top with his heavy boots.
