Johan opened the door of her dorm room and sighed for a moment before letting out a tiny "oh!" She was used to changing roommates by now, as it had already happened quite a few times, but seeing a girl instead of a boy on the second bed was a welcome change. She dropped her bag of pastries on her bed, digging out a large chocolate cupcake and handing it to the girl without much ceremony. "Name's Johan, don't like too much noise except music, you're not a demon so we'll get along fine probably."
The room had been empty when Luna arrived, and despite the slip of paper that confirmed that this was in fact her room too, she couldn’t help but feel as if she was intruding every time she caught sight of the personal belongings on the other side of the room. She was so engrossed in carefully untangling what had most definitely been several individual necklaces when she put them into her bag that had somehow woven themselves together into a messy ball of silver and gold chainmail that she almost didn’t notice the girl enter the room. Luna scrambled to her feet from where she had been sitting on her bed, knocking the forgotten jewelry into the floor and undoubtedly undoing what little progress she had made.
“Hello, I’m Luna, your new roommate,” she beamed to the girl’s back as she rummaged through her bag. She might have practiced the greeting one or several times in the mirror before she began to unpack, and if she did, it was definitely worth it if you asked her. It was Luna’s turn to be surprised as she accepted the cupcake with a baffled “thank you”. Well, she definitely hadn’t rehearsed this.
“Are you a psychic?” Luna asked licking some stray icing off of her finger from where it had bumped into the chocolate. How else would she have known the onodrim was weak for sweets and that she wasn’t a demon within seconds of meeting her? Luckily, Luna had a lot of practice with keeping noise to a minimum, but the excitement of starting over fresh had a constant stream of chatter threatening to pour from her lips at any given moment. Still, she didn’t think it would be a problem, at least she hoped it wouldn’t be.Â
