Simon Lewis has a knack for taking things that don't belong to him, along with the help of his friends Clary Fray and Magnus Bane. When a rival thief, Jace Lightwood, messes up their most recent heist, Simon decides to do what he does best - he gets even.

10. “Don’t try, I’m not worth it.”

“Don’t try,” Jace exclaims,dramatically falling back into the sheets of his bed, “I’m not worth it.”

Simonsnorts. “You’re sick, Jace. Not dying.”

“Sure feelslike it,” Jace mumbles, and Simon softens, stroking a hand over Jace’s cheek.

“You’ll beback on your feet in no time, I just know it,” Simon says, and presses a softkiss to Jace’s forehead. “Now scoot over so we can watch this movie together.”

Jaceshuffles over, loudly protesting, but the second Simon sits down Jace nestlesup against him. “Thank you for staying with me.”

“You... bought me flowers?” Jace arched an eyebrow.

“Yeah--I mean, well, I was on my way back to the Institute from my synagogue, and there was the cutest old lady at the flower shop around the corner, and she stopped me and asked if I was seeing anyone, and um, well--I kinda told her about you, and she started to show me all these bouquets of flowers, and she pulled out these yellow ones that reminded me of your hair and your smile and--I dunno, I thought you might like them, but now it just seems like it was a bad--”

Jace interrupted Simon with a firm kiss.

“God, you never shut up,” he mumbled against Simon’s lips.

“I’m... sorry?”

“No, you dummy. I love it, and I love the flowers. And I love you.”

“My question is…” She pauses, waits until she has Alec’s attention from whomever he is texting, then asks, “Who is the person you have been pining over?”
