James Flint Appreciation Week
Day 1 - Favorite Scene
This scene.
The way he prowls across the deck while still shackled, his fury so very palpable but controlled. The way he barks his orders only to the go icily cold with two simple words in response to Billy's obvious confusion as to what exactly they are supposed to be attacking now that their captain is back aboard the ship.
This scene stayed with me long after I watched it and it's because of that cold, controlled fury. You know Flint is enraged beyond words. You know he wants death and destruction. You know he wants to honor Miranda's wish to see Charlestown, the place purchased with their pain and misery, burn. You know he's going to damn well give her her vengeance even if she is no longer there to see it. You know, given he has now lost two people he loved most, all because of the actions of the same man, he will be damned if he sails away before raining holy hell down upon those responsible. And you know you damn well want him to do it.
