Theme 2 - Metal Symbolism

Almost went with the language of flowers, but then I thought "Why not the language of metals?" So here we have prompts based around different metals and the symbolism behind them! Also included are a few basics of symbols/meanings connected to the metals, but you can totally look them up on your own and go with other meanings, too!

September 1:  A Lorde song that isn’t “Green Light.” Monday is the only day every week that “Green Light” is not played in the Booth Theatre. Do the girls use any of her other songs to help them cope? How do they react to Solar Power or Virgin for the first time? What do their playlists look like? Could you do a drawing or web weave that connects them to her music? 

September 2: Beginnings. It’s the last first day of the week for the show. What was Nell’s first day like, or Bailey’s? Shelby’s first week in Atlanta? You can do anything, so long as it has to do with beginnings.

September 3: Duos. First two-show day of the week! Focus on any friendship, relationship, or other pairing that you so desire. 

September 4: Escapism. It’s almost the weekend, but not quite. What does escapism mean in this play and to these girls? What tools do they use to escape? How can they be paralleled to the girls in Salem? 

September 5: Choose A Scene/Choose A Girl. I saw the play on a Friday so Friday will have two options! Either choose a scene or choose a girl (or mash them up) and do whatever you want. Art, character study, headcanons, gifs, whatever you want. 

September 6: Family Day. It’s much easier to spend time with your family on the weekend. Draw Shelby’s parents or Bailey’s brother. What’s Carter’s wife really like? How do Ivy’s siblings feel about everything? What can you tell me about Raelynn’s home life?

September 7: Endings. Closing night. Maybe you want to choreograph your own “Green Light” dance, or perform it yourself. Maybe you want to draw the final scene. Maybe you want to imagine the girls on the day of their high school graduation. You can do anything, so long as it has to do with endings. 

Note #1: As far as appreciation weeks go, this is definitely last minute. I know that a lot of people in this fandom have a lot going on right now, so I just want to clarify that I do not expect everyone to be able to do every single day. Just do however much or little you want!
