Photo by @rufusart, who worked on this toy and had this to say:
They wanted this repaint to be a new character, not reminiscent of any of the existing seekers. Which I thought was a shame since there were transformation steps that created the "conehead" and the seeker look in robot mode. Also the seekers already used up so many color schemes! Since it was a new character, there wasn't really a fan easter egg I could put in the call numbers, so I used the zip code of the small town I grew up in (Machias, ME.)

Battle No. 427, dated 9 July 1983. Jetblade cover by John Vernon. Treasury of British Comics.
In my continuity Megatronus and The Fallen are separated figures. The Fallen was the first thirteenth Prime, but betrayed the group. Untill The Arisen appeared to defeat and condemn The Fallen to the Pit. The revisionist interpretation is a farce schemed by a cult wich it's old named is translated as: "The path marked by the fires of the Pit" to difame Prima and Megatronus, the most united of brothers and key characters in The Arisen's victory. Few know the truth, but it's said that The Way of the Flame is despised in Iacon's Records Hall and Maccadam's Old Oil House with something akin to righteous fury.
What do you think?
Ohhhh, this is really cool.
It parallels Prima and Megatronus being foils to one another, but cooperative ones (perhaps friendly rivals or representations of a spectrum/coin), and even have real-life similarities on how religious narratives can shift on a historical record.
Plus it has the theme of the Great Evil being struck down to the point their own name was taken away, and plays well with the given canonical epithets: the Fallen vs the Arisen.
Is the Way of the Flame the same/similar to Caminus' dominant religion? Do the Camiens still worship Solus or is the Fallen their main deity? Is the hatred due to a translation error/purposely smudged by the cult from the fires of Solus had her Celestrial Forge, the wildness of Megatronus, and the Fallen's fiery path to the Pits?
Megatronus was stated to be the dark reflection of Prima, so does the Fallen have their own aspects or domains before being cast out? Did Megatronus take over their powers since the Arisen was stated to be without special powers and weapons? The Thirteenth was said to have great "vision and courage," so perhaps the Arisen was either made powerless (compared to his siblings) on purpose or was the uncorrupted version of the Fallen.
There's soooo much good stuff in here!
Ok but also this made me realize that Windblade x Skyfire/Jetfire has rarepair potential on it's own right.

Battle No. 439, dated 1 October 1983. Jetblade cover by John Vernon. This was the final issue with just Battle in the masthead until No. 605 in December 1986. It was Battle Action Force for the next 166 issues.
I thought this was may have been the last comic strip drawn by John Vernon (he had been working as an artist from the 1940's) but he shows up again in sister title Eagle No's 97 to 99 and 103 to 106 drawing Sgt. Streetwise and various The Amstor Computer strips in 1984. Treasury of British Comics.
