Daffy Duck made after the likeness of a Garfield Goose painting from the set of WGN’s “Family Classics.” This painting by Jesse Silver of artwork I pencilled, found its way into episodes of “Duck Dodgers” and “The Looney Tunes Show.”
Daffy Duck finally gets his close up on this “TV Guide” cover! Tony Cervone and I were asked to come up with artwork featuring Bugs and Daffy for this cover. Bugs Bunny makes a subtle/not so subtle appearance. Clean up by Doug Ninneman, digital paint by Jesse Silver.

We chat with matte painter Jesse Silver about his work on Tron, Something Wicked This Way Comes, Labyrinth, moving from real paint to digital for Super Mario Bros., and one high-pressure effects house that had phones in the toilet stalls.

Here's a picture of me painting the original master shot of the TRON holding cells in the Disney matte department circa 1981. You'll note that it's in color, rather than grayscale. When we ramped up production following NATO, all of the TRON backgrounds were painted in grayscale.
